I still have some doubts about AVB, like I did when we appointed him in the summer, but more results like Saturdays and those doubts will soon evaporate.

I was sceptical at first - not a doubter necessarily but I wasn't sure he was the best man for the job given his recent problems at Chelsea. I didn't think that Chelsea was his fault, just that the media fury would be an unwanted distraction.

I'm almost 100% sold now though, and will 100% support him no matter what because he's our manager. I think that overall we have played better than our opponents so far this season. Sure, there have been patches when we have looked awful, but also patches when we have been incredible.

Still too early to be sure, some are gettng carried away with the marvellous result at OT.
It's only 6 games let's see where we are at Christmas, but at least it looks like we're on the right track

Agreed it's early, but the reality of the situation is that we are 5 games unbeaten with the biggest scalp of the lot under our belt, all from a team still to find its best form.

Wonderful platform to build from.

spot on and it can only get better once the injured players get back

My thoughts as well, dead chuffed for AVB also. The amount of slagging off he has had to take from the media and more disgracefully from some Spurs fans has been terrible, and i am glad to see that he is beginning to turn some of those opposing views round.

I was wrong. I admit it. Very wrong indeed.

Yes we are not the finished article but the players are playing for him and the confidence they will get from that win will be immense.

Never have I seen a Spurs team so dominant in the first half at OT. 68% possession, unbelievable really.

AVB's problem is not his, its the players and the fans. We all knew that an early goal in the 2nd half would give us the jitters. We are our own worst enemies and that includes the fans. Check twitter during the 2nd half and our defeatest attitude (including mine) shines through.

Truth is we scored 3 times at OT and they scored 2. No matter what happened we deserved our slice of luck as we have had 0 there in the last 23 years. Remember Webb's pen when 2 up last time at OT and of course Pedro's goal that never was.

Only one more hoodoo to vanquish at Stamford Bridge and this team has done the lot. We should not be scared playing Man United anymore. We have won there, and not many teams can say that since Ferguson has been there manager.

Well done AVB - onwards and upwards.

In AVB I trust,

It's still early days, and one good 45 mins at Old Trafford does not make a successful season, but so far, so good.

I had my doubts about his maturity and abiility to communicate with players and the media, but so far he has been both strong and also humble enough to see that he needs to learn from his mistakes.

I have supported AVB, except for Sahin.....and who was smarter? I think he was.

And I have had no reason to doubt him. But I did think this year would be much more difficult than it has been. I thought he was more long term and that I would be 100% behind him as long as we were 17th or higher this year. Although, with our talent, I never expected 17th.....just a point to show my conviction. So to see us doing so well at this early a stage, actually kind of surprises me. I thought adjusting to a new system would take longer, and I can see there still adjustments to be made. And I thought his system would take him a few transfer windows to get the squad he might need. But that's not the case. He's a good coach and a better man manager than I would have thought. . And he seems to have learned immeasurable from his time at Chelsea.

And, while the game against QPR started awfully, I liked that he fucked up in that 1st half. Because it showed he's willing to see his mistakes and adjust. Plus, what he has done with Defoe.....holy shit. None of expected that and yes, Defoe has worked his ass off, but it took somebody like AVB to see that he could lead the line. Kudos....because I would have never expected that.

So I am actually happier than I expected with him and I expected to be happy.
