I find it amazing how highly he is regarded.

Yes, he is not dog poo, but really...?

He comes across as the David Beckham of football management; got a bit of talent and know how, but really is just a pretty face with a bit of tekkers:meh:

That's a huge disservice to Beckham. Lad didn't just have tekkers, he was a fantastic team player, outrageous with a dead ball and very important to his side in winning Prem titles and La Liga.

That's a fair point; but like AVB there are/were others who could have been much better in that position.

See Cristiano.

We too will have a manager, in the near future, that really is 'it'.

We have an attractive enough squad to tempt some very decent names I think.

but unlike AVB Beckham was a winner and a champion consistently through out his career not a massive flop at 2 of his first 3 major jobs

I wish him well. I feel there's an unfinished project of majestic proportions lurking within him somewhere

"hey Pep, I got them tight at the back, started with plenty of clean sheets, lots of sideways and backwards movement. Any chance you could teach me how to get the ball forward?"

Was he though; 'the class of 1999' had some very good players in it, and every vintage team has a flash in the pan/carrier.

See Barcelona and Vicktor Valdes.

See Barcelona and Vicktor Valdes.

Vicktor Valdes is an important player for Barca tbf. Not because he is a particularly good goalkeeper but because he doesn't panic and is insistent on playing it from the back.

Every player has a purpose even if it is a limited one in contributing to a teams success. Mind Beckham was actually a very fine player. A incredibly hard worker and had fantastic dead ball ability, particularly when it comes to indirect ones. He was also vital in that Madrid title he won and was brilliant at Man utd as well. Don't let the celeb stuff cloud your judgement Beckham was throughout all of his carrier a very useful and talented player though never a world beater himself.

Oh ffs :D I'm not ready for his immensely dimensional management again just yet

You know what, I do like AVB, and he would probably do well in the Bundesliga where teams don't set up to defend and games are much more open. I'm not sure how I would feel about it to be honest, it could work, but I don't like the way he falls out with so many different people

talks about German football, Qatar and Hitzlsperger

very good words on Hitzlsperger, not interested in getting a new job until June, expects Ronaldo to win the Ballon D'Or

Still comes across as a genuinely nice bloke

Always liked the guy and its good to see him smiling and getting on with someone in the media and giving them plenty of time.
