Just wanted to say what an improvement I''ve seen in him in the last few weeks.

I went to Portsmouth a few months ago and he was absolutely shocking but I think he's done pretty well lately

Still has alot of things to work on but has improved and will hopefully go from strength to strength now

Well done mate

I think he's another one benny-fitting (see what i did there? ) from the Harry method of motivation. He's always had the look of someone fired up and eager to get forward, he's always overlapped well with his midfield counterpart but often his first touch and delivery have let him down. Now he appears to have found some confidence and has occasionally knocked in a wild cross but, as he's been allowed to play some balls from deeper, instead of beind expected to run to the line, or play the one-two's then let the midfield take over, his qualities are starting to show.

Very promising talent who, with a few more games under his belt, could be a fine left back for us and, if we're going on form, Bale isn't going to get a look in at LB at the current rate of improvement Disco Benny's showing.

Yeah, I was thinking of starting a BAE appreciation thread... unfortunately there's a crazy ammount of delusional pro-Bale anti-BAE bias on here, so thought against it.

But yeah, he's been fantastic recently!

He's ok but sometimes makes silly decisions which can cost us the game. His crossing is superb though.............so much better than Bentley's crossing....and he doesnt cost 15mil.............

Does anyone remember when exactly BAE said he was homesick and wanted to leave? Was it before or after 'arry's arrival?

Tenatively grabbing at straws but would be great if he has warmed to 'arry's style of mangement and wants to stay.

Time ago, shortly after Wendy arrived on the scene and he wasn't getting played, if my memory serves...

I put no weight in these stories anyways - two years ago it was Lennon who was homesick and wanted to leave, we all know what happened there.

I see it as being the other way around - there seems to be a bit of a Ekotto love in going on in here whilst me and my Spurs supporting mates don't really rate him.
Not one for slating our players too much but I really can't see that he's any good. Decent crosser of the ball and he has definately improved of late but his positional play is absolutely awful and that consequently means he makes silly decisions to rectify the situation.

Admittedly Bale is suffering from a massive dip in form (which he's paying for by sitting on the bench) but I think he has so much more natural talent.

Ah well, as long as we carry on winning I couldn't give a toss!

I always remember that interview where he said he never really liked football as a kid and just went with it because he was good at it and saw a career opportunity. There seems to just be that special spark missing from him and I think this is the reason why.

That said, he's playing well and as with every other spurs player he's got my full support. IMO Bale should not be brought in over him at the moment.

He still never looks happy here. IMO, believe he would jump at the chance to return back to France.

He's definitely likes to sport the sullen Anelka type vibe, I think its just his style. If you remember the interviews when he signed, he said he's not really into football, and never watches it on TV, prefers to listen to hip-hop.

Really didn't rate him when he first started playing this season. I think he has improved a massive amount and has played really well over the last few games. I still have a niggling doubt about him tho. Worried he will do something silly and cost us a game. Hopefully that part of his game will be lost soon. He is def the best choice we have for that position at the moment. Bale will come good tho I think and start challenging him.

Really? Last season he never went forward any further than the halfway line.

I was constantly on his back for this - he just seemed happy to stand around with his fingers up his backside even when he had nobody to mark.

This season its almost as if he's sucked out the life from Bale, who has been a shadow of what he was last year. BAE still has his faults but he's actually looked a decent player this season. I love his ferocious low flashing crosses across the 6 yard box - crying out for the likes of Bent & Pav to read those.

As for Bentley on the left, well I feel he should have been dropped for O'Hara a few games ago.

He's put some great crosses in the box the past few games and looks decent going forward, but defensively he's still not it he was lucky not give a penalty away against west ham, loses the ball quite alot, and against everton almost gifted a goal by tangling with king etc..

I think that people haven’t been nearly patient enough with him. He was young when he arrived and admittedly he looked he was struggling to settle but hadn’t played nearly enough games to be judged properly before he was injured.

Now he has had a string of games we are finally getting to see the best of him, and in my view he seems to be a competent premier league left back. And still at 24 maybe there is more to come from him.

I think with Bale and BAE, we are guarenteed at least one great left back. I say keep them both and no longer worry about that situation.

I think he's looked good all season - not just since redknapp. but then, I've always thought there was a decent LB in there somewhere.
