... hopefully.

They will need to score. They are slow. Their fullbacks are suspect. Lennon showed what we can do to them on the break. Bale and Lennon will tear them a new one on the break at our place.

Make sure we stay disciplined. Don't let them in early. They will have to commit players forward if we keep a clean sheet for 60 min and if they happens, I can see Bale and Lennon murdering them.

Would be a good chant if we meet Inter again...Bale, Bale will tear you apart again.

It's all psychological...lead Bale(y) and Lil Aaron onto the pitch like two greyhounds, studded collars included...take collars off and have them shoot up and down the touchline as part of the warm-up routine - AC will poop their panties:grin:

Going to be interesting to see what team Redknapp goes for. He doesn't want to be too attacking and potentially throw away our advantage, but it's not in his nature to go defensive at home.

With Modric and Bale not quite there, the team largely picked itself. It would be a shame for any one of Palacios, Sandro or Pienaar to miss out, but I have a feeling it will be the latter two who do.

I would prefer playing with only one winger, tbh.

I can see why. Having only one winger is a tighter formation which allows us to retain possession more, but AC really are suspect down the flanks. That is why we dropped Kranjcar to the bench instead of Pienaar - Harry wanted us to get at them. We can't risk going too defensive at the Lane - we have to stick to our usual game or we could get hurt. I'd much rather we played one up, with VdV sitting a bit deeper when necessary rather than sacrifice Bale or Lennon.

Imagine VdV and Modric looking for those passes to Bale and Lennon on the break, perhaps with Crouch playing the ball into their path or following in. We could destroy them.

Bale and Lennon must play, we saw what Lennon was capable of doing, if they have to contend with that on both sides, it will be too much for them.

The thing with Bale is that he does still track back and is very good defencively. He works just as hard as Pienaar so it is a no brainer to play him and Lennon for me.

As fantastic as Sandro and Wilson were tonight Modric is sheer quality and again has to play, who for I can't quite decide.

I really believe that you have to play your best players whenever possible. Good players win games so for me Bale and Modders come back in as will Thudd when he is fit.

This is where me and many others differ.

I believe you have to play the correct system to give yourself the best chance of getting a result and occasionally that will mean leaving out a good player to help the team. We will still need to be solid at home.

This. We need to stop being naive. All out gung-ho football is great, but it wont win you championships.

Yup. I think we should use the same formation we started with today. 4-4-1-1. Bale and Modric are upgrades on Pienaar and Palacios/Sandro and so should come in.

We have to resist the urge to set ourselves our more defensively at home than we were today. One moment and our lead and away goal are wiped out.

I have to say that the first names on the team sheet for me in the next leg are Bale and Lennon. This AC Milan team hate dealing with pace at the best of times but at a goal down we'd be crazy not to use our counter-punch threat.

Can you imagine Milan's reaction when they turn up at White Hart Lane and see Bale or Lennon left on the bench? They'd be delighted... As far as being protective, the best way to protect is to keep the ball and Modric is our best player when it comes to keeping the ball... Barring any further injuries I'd be very surprised if we didn't line up with Bale, Modric, Palacios/Sandro and Lennon come the second leg...

When the draw was made didn't Harry say he was pleased with it as he thought our pace could hurt them? Can't imagine he would leave Lennon or Bale out. Lennon beat his man every time last night and Bale can beat anyone.

Totally agree. The lift Milan would get if they saw Lennon or Bale not starting would spur them on. They would assume, quite rightly, that we were playing it more cautiously. I really think they would be genuinely worried seeing Bale and Lennon starting on the wings.
