Bale has said he wants to play and I can see why, it could be his only opportunity to play in an international tournament (despite Wales making progress over recent months).

I havent got a problem with it, best of luck to him and any of our other players if they are selected.

No one else concerned that he'll miss the 1st month of next season ?

He'll only be able to take his summer break for 2 / 3 weeks after the tournament ends in mid August - same time the Premiership usually starts

Why would he miss any of our season? The games are in England.

Just means instead of playing friendlies for us he will be playing them for Wales, if he was off to the Euros as well I'd be conncerned.

Good luck to him. It's the olympics in London, its a once in a lifetime chance, something anyone competing will remember for the rest of their lives. Concerned for our preseason? Killjoy.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp: It’s easy to drop Roman Pavlyuchenko
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has said he will not find it hard to leave Roman Pavlyuchenko out of his side for Sunday's clash with Blackburn as he is 'never happy'.

The Spurs manager will omit the Russian forward from the squad despite his Europa League match-winning goal against Rubin Kazan, saying that he needs to score more consistently.

'I’ve got good competition up front, and when they play they have to take their chance. It’s what they are paid to do,' he told the Mirror.
' Emmanuel Adebayor’s been on good form, Rafael van der Vaart has scored in his last three games and Jermain Defoe scored a good goal at Newcastle.'
Redknapp also admitted that he is not sure he can keep the player happy at Tottenham, saying: 'Pav is never happy, really. And I don’t think I can keep him happy. He’s a good lad who gets on with it, and when he is on his game there is no doubt he is a fantastic player.'

However, he stressed that he is in 'no rush' to sell the player, saying if he comes in and works hard every day there will be no issue.
'It’s up to him what he does in January - if he feels he wants a move, that’s down to him. I like him as a lad. He is a good boy and he can play,' Redknapp told the newspaper.
It has been suggested that Sevilla are planning to make an offer for Pavlyuchenko when the January transfer window opens and a number of Russian clubs are also thought to have their eyes on him.

Pav's not my favourite player, but it's hardly going to help us sell him is it ?

This is the answer.
The Olympics is a pretty big deal and at the
end of the day Bale is a human being not an object
we own. If he wants to play we should let him.

Messi fought to play for Argentina in the last Olympics, if it's good enough for him..........

for me the problem is that football like tennis should not be at the olympics - but it is.

simple each PL club should be ordered to release one player each to be part of the gb team bale good choice and used as a warm up matches - but i would rather see carroll as our rep.
