So basically; Spain, Spain, Spain, Spain, Spain, Spain, Spain, Spain, Italy, Germany, England.

Great that he can break into that closed shop but Gerrard Pique?? Really? WTF?

Pique has developed into the possibly best ball-playing CB in the world. So yes, really.

Delighted for Bale. Modric was unfortunately always going to lose to Xavi, but it would be interesting to see how close he was.

I've not read all the replies but please tell me the sensible majority realises that although this is great to see really it's laugable that Bale is in the best XI in Europe.

Reconfirms my view that the vast majority of the footballing world both inside it and outside looking in, are lazy and unimaginative plebs

If you are not counting Messi and Ronaldo as wingers, then Bale is an obvious candidate for the left wing slot of a European XI.

Whilst Bale hasn't even been the best player in our midfield in 2011, to me this just shows how much Spurs are getting noticed now. Look at that team, Madrid, Barca, Milan and Munich are all European giants, not just big clubs, but historically the best clubs - and us making up the numbers here speaks volumes.

The world is watching.

they were watching, only because we were in the champions league!

hopefully we get back in for next season and the world can take note of walker, kaboul etc etc and prepare 50 million pound bids

Come on don't be silly. Bale is fantastic and has had his moments and is already in the top 50 players in Europe but to be included in a European XI is plain daft.

Like for Like Di Maria and Nani were better. but really the team should have been 3 upfront if Ronaldo is now classed exclusively as a CF and RVP or D.Villa or Cavani should have been one of the 3 leaving Bale OUT.

I disagree Bale won the player of the season award last season and also showed his talents with some great performances in Europe. I'm not saying he would make my European XI, but in a 4-4-2, he was better than both Nani and Di Maria last season.

Bale was good for half a season last year, not entirely his fault but Di Maria was definitely better and more consistent last season.

Nani started hot and fell away, like Bale and Nasri.

No JJ? Absolutley scandless!!

Well done Bale, stay with us son! I would say it was for his perfomances in the CL more than anything else, especially against Inter.

Messi and Ronaldo haven't played as wingers for years. Pique shouldn't be there, he's had a very poor last 12 months, and I'm a huge fan of his.

Been excellent this last 2 seasons.

My Arse!
The most overated player around, put him in a team where he has to defend for any length of time and he'd be ripped apart.
I don't agree with the ball playing idea either, he gets it he gives it to someone else, probably Xavi, everyone else does, I never see him do anything and be impressed, Puyol in the same team I am.

What difference does the price make, Levy's going to reject them all anyway... :hump:
