Ade looked pumped for last nights game haven't seen him rousing the others up before kick off like he did yesterday for a long time. He wasn't perfect last night but scored a decent goal and worked really hard, hopefully he now relishes having the extra responsibility.
Sorry dude, but I feel I have to disagree. Was watching him closely from the North Stand and finding him incredibly frustrating, as has been the case most of the season. Was not his worst game, true enough. But apart from being driven by the crowd to chase a couple of balls, I think his lack of confidence was matched by a lack of energy. He wasn't the only one, to be fair. Let's hope his goal gives him a bit more confidence for Sunday. We need him to lead the line now more than ever.

From what it sounds like old Gallas has played his last game in a Spurs shirt...

Lennon will be back earliest Basel and Bale's doesn't sound as serious as everyone thought, lots of positive signs - Maybe back for City?

I could live with that above scenario.

was he booed off the pitch by our fans or was it the Basel ones complaining of time wasting. Hopefully the later, wouldnt be at all surprised if it was the former

Don't be sorry this is a forum that's what its for ;) maybe it wasn't one of his workhorse performances of last season but I saw a marked improvement in this respect last night especially after his goal. I'm hoping that he is gradually finding form.

I was in North Upper and agree with this statement. Was all summed up in 2nd half when he got shoved off ball and just sat and dulled instead of getting up and working.

As for Gallas, I expected him to be subbed off at half-time. When Dawson came out to warm up at the break I think everyone expected the same and were shocked the change didn't happen.

We can only hope... I think Ade has been neutered or something this year
Maybe someone needs to make him angry... oh, hang on, that didn't work out so well either, at the Unmentionables' ground, down the Seven Sisters Road. Hmmm.

Totally agree. Me and my brother were praying Daws was coming on for Gallas.

He was booed off by our fans and although i am not an advocate of booing, in this case i could hardly blame them. i don't care if his muscle went, we had used all our subs and he could of at least occupied a position on the wing just for nuisance value. To just walk off and down the tunnel is a f***** disgrace imo.

Back in the day before subs, players used to stay on the pitch even if they were injured, even if they couldn't contribute too much.

I didn't hear any booing from Spurs fans when he went off. But there was some directed towards him near the end of the first half, unfortunately. Not many - and a bit half-hearted. He'd been mind-bendingly terrible (again) but, as much as I want the guy a million miles from the Spurs team, I'd never boo someone in a Spurs shirt. What's the point?
At the end of the day, it's down to AVB to realise Gallas is finished and too often a liability. Perhaps if he is going to be injured for the rest of the season, it's no longer something to worry about. But if we somehow manage to get past Basel and Gallas is fit, I pray to God that he doesn't play in the semi.

havent other spurs players done that recently when the game is all but over? My mind tells me Aaron Lennon and VDV. But they werent booed off, suppose it helps they didnt play for Arsenal:rolleyes:

You weren't the only ones praying that Daws would come on for Gallas. Judging by the reception Daws got when he came out, most of the stadium wanted him on for Gallas.

Really didn't expect Gallas to come out in the 2nd half, especially with how early Dawson came out to warm up during the interval.

More likely to be Wigan away I reckon - think the City game will some to soon for him going on the latest information.

Still that's pretty positive, at least we'll have him for the last four or five games which includes Cheslea away.

I know Aaron Lennon often subs himself when he's injured but I don't remember him doing it when we had no sub to replace him

Fair enough. It's funny, i remember that game very well. Sorensen had a blinder, Lennon got the shit kicked out of him all game and the player who was doing it popped up with the winner. I remember Lennon walking off but i don't remeber us having used all our sub's. I was probably pretty pissed off at his attitude too at the time then and i still think that a player should always stay on in that situation as long as they can hobble about.

Thing is, i've been quite a supporter of Gallas and thought that his attitude and winning mentality was good to have around the squad. Its clear though that he's finished and I think AVB has made a mistake to continue playing him, specially after his display in Milan.
