You havent understood my Post/
'It's a fact that Bale is a full back (because his primary classification is full back) is a different argument to 'Bale's primary classification is full back'.
I dont think people have been arguing against the second statement. Nobody has said that Bale's primary classification is as a Winger, so I'm not sure where your claim to be educating people on fact vs opinion comes from.
The first statement (which was the original position) can be argued against. One can argue that Bale is a winger notwithstanding the fact that his primary classification is full back. You would need to be quite linear in your thinking not to see that. Again, the name on my birth certificate is Peter; everybody calls me Paul. What's my name?
You have made your point but what does it matter if people think otherwise and why have you taken so much time to just say the same thing.
Surely writing so much about such a non issue is a waste of your time.
How many posts did you make, asking me things I had already answered in my original post?
Would you rather I hadn't answered your posts - to me that is ignorant, but...
Ignorant?
Do you mean rude? Ignorant doesn't mean rude.
The people who think it does are ignorant.
He's a left sided player
:shrug:So, is Modric a centre midfield player or a leftsided player?

On several threads over several weeks.
It is the only thing I am interested in.
I wasn't looking to get into an argument about some abstract philosophical point...that appears to be your thing:-|
Still don't understand why we need to categories players in to primary position.

Fair enough. I'm happy to stand corrected but as I said, I've been following the argument and I've not seen that. Would you mind pointing out a couple of posts where people have argued that Bale's primary classification is as a winger? Not posts arguing that he is winger but posts arguing that that is his primary classification.
I dabble in philosophy, yes. But that isn't 'my thing'. Logic is my thing.
Because some posters were being abusive about anyone who didn't 'understand' that Bale IS a winger.
Well thats all I needed to hear tbh, it annoys me when people try to force their opinion on me  so if you were countering those people its fine... but I still find it an irrelevant point, each to their own I guess
Because some posters were being abusive about anyone who didn't 'understand' that Bale IS a winger. I was demonstrating that if a player has a primary position, even if they have a secondary position, it is more accurate, if you are to give them one descriptor, to use the primary one...therefore, although he can be described as a winger (as that is his secondary position...ATM), that is only a secondary position. If you were pushed, therefore, to give a simple one phrase answer to the question: "What is his position"?, it is more accurate to say 'full-back' than 'winger'. Therefore, anyone who 'doesn't understand that he IS a winger' isn't an idiot...which was actually posted.
Honestly, Chris, this is all in my original post in this thread, you are making me repeat myself.
