Why does he get a platform though, when the thread was created not to have a true discussion but to cause a stir? He even posted the same thing on unrelated topics. Surely due to the nature of the topic and past experience etc he shouldn't be allowed such a platform. It does nothing but cause further annoyance and only allows him to achieve what he set out to do.

Why can't you ban repeated WUMs that crawl out of the woodwork after every defeat or delete threads like these. There is already a match threat to discuss the match and a Bale thread to discuss, you guessed it, Bale.

As long as they stick to the rules we will not be going around banning people because they do not like their point of view. Its a forum where everyone has their own opinion.
Why do people pander to it? just ignore it. All you do is give them more resons to keep doing it as they know it will cause an effect
Of course it is and that's right. But sometimes you have to question the motives, particularly when they hijack other threads with the same message. Naturally it will cause people to hurl abuse, just as they deserve it because after all they are abusing someone themselves (why should they be immune when they've cast a stone?). Everyone just ends up letting off steam.
As it wasn't intended to create discussion I think it should have just been merged into the match thread (or a newly created letting off steam thread) as that would have ensured it was eventually forgotten.

Liverpool have set out to foul Bale at every opportunity the last three times we've played them. Gerrard went in first half with no intention to play the ball and every intention to take out Bale and should have been booked. Unfortunately today we got a weak-ass homer of a ref. Suarez was allowed to kick out at Dembele, then deliberately stand on his foot and not receive any punishment at all.

For me, I find Bale a very grounded person, and a bloody good footballer. Unfortunately for fans, like any footballer you can't be at your best in every single game.
Hell if thats a bad performance, I'd take two assists and what should have been at least another 2 assists had gilfi been a bit luckier and more on target.
The issue for me was the ref, Gerrard should have been booked just before he took Bale out from behind, but to not get booked for both was very very poor, and Bale had every right to moan at half time about it.
We lost to two pretty horrific mistakes, thats all.

I wonder how many previously regular and highly contributing posters such as myself have been posting less and less on this site because of the increasing regularity of threads such as this one.
If the advice is that if we don't like it, don't post, then I'm afraid that a fair few contributors are just not going to post because they won't like it at all, and in the end we'll be left with a 'fan' site made up almost entirely of posters like this one. Shame, because the mods have really created the best fan site going in SC and have maintained it splendidly over the years.
gibbs, TOY, they were eventually dealt with properly.
As for Bale, I'm not totally sure why he'd get stick for being hurt after an elbow/ forearm at high speed to the back of the head from an incredibly powerful human being. But Gerrard get's away with these things, as his nightclub incident proved.
