I used to like you.

Aw don't doubt my real Ronaldo love, just look through threads I've created, there's definitely one in tribute to him and his revival in Brazil somewhere. I just like the name: term of endearment, honest

I'd love to see Bale, Lennon and VDV all interchanging positions.

Am I the only one that thinks Shogun was on a wind up then and you all bit?

Or does he just not watch La liga on a Sunday to see Messi's sheer magnificence. To me he is already on the way to becoming the greatest player ever. Just needs a World up win to cement that. It just looks so easy for him once he gets in the box.

Not to mention the best player Messi

I think these are tricky type players though, where Bale is more about blistering pace going round the outside and whipping crosses in. More in the Roberto Carlos mould.

I agree. Bale is more raw pace and power rather than technique and dribbling.

This is why he will end up the best left back in the world eventually.

Bale and RVDV were switching fairly often during the first half of the Twente game.

I dont see why Bale and Lennon cant do this

Bale has a hell of a lot of technique though, stupid amounts. One of my favourite tricks of his is when Ekotto plays those fast, angled balls down the flank, slightly off the ground, and Bale takes it with his left foot and turns his marker in one movement before bringing it down once he's facing the opposition goal and bursting forward with the ball. He does it a lot, it's basically a carbon copy of the turn Berbatov did to murder the Charlton defender towards the end of his first season en route to that amazing goal.

That's the wonderful thing with Bale, he combines superb touch and control with his athleticism and pace. Lennon, when on form, also does this, but Bale having the extra heigh and reach probably means he does it a little better, probably at the level of the worlds best widemen in fact.

I would like to see Gareth having a go at the manager's job.

I mean, that 'Arry RotKnopf, he's shi'ite, ain't he:shrug:

And when he's got that one licked...watch out Danny-Boy Levio, you don't have a job for life, y'know (so, better deliver on that second top 4 finish in 2 seasons malarky, me ol' China)

baley spent some time on the right for wales against bulgaria, not sure how long - only saw the highlights... had a great right footed cross near the byline that shouldve been a goal and also cut inside for some nice left footed crosses that shouldve been goals too.

good to see

I don't think it would work or use Bale's strengths at all. He is a throwback winger, wingback- he works best on his favoured side and taking players on. His best crosses are those from the left swinging slightly outwards. Putting him on the right means he is coming inside a lot and getting squeezed out. It just won't use his skills as much. Other players are better out there because they are either different or don't have the same level of pace as Bale.

Keep him on the left, it's not doing any harm.
