It's not a matter of how long he does it. It's a matter of at what level he does it. If he performed at the same level against the likes of Holland and Spain at the World Cup, then he would be world class. If he had done it against the likes of Inter Milan or Barca in the Champions League, then he would be world class.

So far he hasn't even competed on that level. He's done great against a lot of teams in England, but only one great performance at home to Chelsea from the top teams. He played well at home to Arsenal but not his typical great performance. He did nothing away to Man Utd or Liverpool. I'm not taking anything away from him, but I would like someone to say exactly what he has done to be considered world class.

I think it is a case of how long and also the level.

He's been in great form for 6 months or so, but it was less than a year ago he was getting roasted to fuck by Seamus Coleman at Everton.

Its going to take a good length of consistency before he's 'world class' in my book and that goes for all of our players. When MON called Ashley Young "world class" the world laughed. He was in arguably better form than Bale is in now at the time and now look.

Bale will need to do what he's doing now for a good, extended period of time and in our biggest games he will have to stand up and be counted. We couldn't rely on him to produce the magic against Wigan at home....

The boy will have bad games for us. Might as well get used to that fact!

A prolonged period of poor form and Harry will no doubt look to "rest" him in place of one of the other talented players we have. That's the nature of the beast.

No one's undroppable!

I agree with those that say it depends on form. No one is undroppable.

Anyone remeber the rumours that Jenas and/or Keane had it in their contracts that they must be in the XI if fit?! Those have been shown to be untrue.
