Quite cringe worthy if I am honest.

I recall *sigh* Adrian Durham saying on Talksport how long before a British player says its his dream to play for Barca or Madrid as all the kids out there have Barca or Madrid shirts instead of say Woking FC or Gillingham.

FIFA generation.

Bale has just signed for albeit a massive club but also a classless club.

The way they do their business and how they low they and there papers get their hooks into players and agents shows they have not lost any there franco fachist beliefs.

Visca el Spurs
Visca el Barca

It's amazing to see, it really was, the way he was acting - like I never knew him at all.

He was probably told to everything he did on that presentation.

I harbour no ill will towards Bale at all. I have to admit I felt really pleased for him when I watched the press conference and all the stuff on the pitch. He seemed genuinely happy and over-awed by it all. I think he could have been a little more classy later on in the summer with the training stuff but, whatever, he's gone now and I wish him all the best.

He was just brilliant for us and I'm really proud he played for us, but now he's gone. We have a top class squad in the making with a potential team of eventual title winners, of that I'm sure. I think it's been a win/win for Bale and for THFC to be honest.

Onwards and, most definitely, upwards!!

The worst part of this is having to agree with the sentiments of Adrian Durham

If only Derren Brown were a Yiddo.

Could've got him to hypnotise Bale so that when he stepped out on the Bernie Bayu rather than kissing the badge he proceeded to drop his shorts and start whacking off into the shirt...

Perez Translation "well that's €100m we'll never get back..."

Already more rumours that a queue of players aren't happy they sold Ozil, and the assistant saying Bale will not automatically start. (but if he couln't even do a bit of keepie uppies without shitting himself how's he going to react in a full stadium when the white hankies come a waving...)

He is irritating me now. He should be regarded in the future as a Spurs legend for his goals and the legacy of the players we bought with the money but as far as I am concerned he belongs to another and so can f*ck off.

Christian Eriksen is the future, watch the Ajax video (classy touch) and start loving another.

Defo a couple more people there than at Bales but maybe due to the fact that bales was postponed? Either ways I think I'm getting over it now. Lets concentrate on getting behind our excellent team that has been assembled and move forward! (y)

On another note, I sincerely hope sky sports, the mirror, the sun etc etc etc, stop putting Bale news in the Spurs sub section.
He plays for Madrid now. Nothing to do with spurs so fuck off with it.

Ibbz, Goode Pard'Ner...just let it pass, it will only cause undue stress. He never claimed to be a Spurs fan, he does appear to have been a RM fan/dreamed of playing for RM*. We have new players now, and we should be being excited about them and giving them our support (not suggesting your won't) rather than being overly concerned by an ex-player physically demonstrating his happiness at joining his (supposed) favourite club, the self-proclaimed biggest club in the World, on a mahoosive wage and with a fair to middling chance of winning things - if Barca have a bad season:giggle:

We did well out of the deal.

* Don't really understand it, myself, when I was a kid I wore a Spurs shirt and dreamed of playing at WHL. Didn't know one single person who wore an overseas team's shirt and dreamed of playing for them especially with no overt connection to them...but there you go (y)

Because without us, he would be a bog-standard LB and would not be the player he is now- one of the best in the world- kissing the badge is a sign of loving the club and its fans- he never did it- lack of respect considering he did it with the rm badge after 2 seconds

That is fucking ridiculous. I remember the fuss when he signed for us in 2007; Man Utd were all over Southampton trying to sign him that summer and we pulled off a big coup (acknowledged by all the football writers at the time) when announced that we'd agreed to sign him from Southampton. His talent was obvious in his first couple of games for us (before his first injury) too - I first saw him live at Fulham (a) in 2007 when we drew 3-3, and even playing from left-back he and Berba were clearly the best two players on the pitch that game. It didn't take a brain surgeon to see that he was going to be a very special player indeed in years to come, and all the people who were moaning at the run of games without a win that he played in were demonstrably not evaluating Bale's actual individual performances in those games, but just looking at the scoreboard and deciding that he must be mediocre.

In fact, I'd say the only thing that has been a surprise about Bale's career trajectory with us has been his change of position in to and out-and-out forward player. When he joined from Southampton we knew that he was an attacking left-back who could push up into an orthodox left-midfielder role if needed, but his transformation into a wide-forward and free-role attacking player couldn't have been confidently predicted before he joined Spurs. But that's merely a positional thing; he was destined to be a great footballer before he joined us, and he simply fulfilled a massive part of his potential whilst playing for Spurs.

In short, we were very good for him, he was very good for us, and aside from the rather silly (but ultimately not all that significant) sulk he pulled during his last fortnight with us in the end both Bale and Spurs have ended up as winners out of his time at White Hart Lane, and shouldn't we just acknowledge that and move on without rancour?

Bale is a piece of shit. Anyone who has understood the subtext of the statement from the club and the statements made by AVB could not think otherwise. He teed up the deal with Madrid in May, guaranteed himself a source of income if the deal didn't happen (20 million Euros from Madrid, this would have handsomely covered any fines imposed by the club and paid for a years supply of pink clothes and shitty hats) and got his move by more or less threatening to miss the whole season.

This forced us to sell him or lose any value as he ran down his contract. His behaviour was disgustingly unprofessional and disrespectful. He does not deserve our approbation or undying love and gratitude, he deserves our derision. If and when he next plays at the Lane he needs to be reminded of his perfidy. Scum bag.
