Good interview with him today in the Torygraph

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ccess-with-the-galacticos-of-Real-Madrid.html

This bit from it is a bit telling

In addition to former Tottenham team-mate Modric, Bale has been leaning on the other players in the Madrid squad to have played in the Premier League, such as Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Álvaro Arbeloa.

But he talks just as highly of long standing club servants and vice-captains Sergio Ramos and Marcelo.

“They lead by example. If you ever want to talk to them they’re always there to listen. It’s great to play alongside them because they’re world-class players too.” Bale says that sharing a dressing room with Ronaldo, Alonso and Ramos means that, unlike at Tottenham, where Bale was the talisman, he is just one of many stars at Madrid.

“At Tottenham I was always trying to get onto the ball and make everything tick, whereas here everybody’s doing that, there are world-class players all around the pitch and you’re able to concentrate just on your game rather than bringing the whole team forward, and I’m enjoying that.”

So he didn't like the pressure of being the top man at spurs? I thought that is what made him into the player he is now. Without that role he would just have been another player and RM may not have come in for him.

Obviously he needs that pressure as he's been nowhere near the Bale we saw last year. Don't think i've seen him go on one decent dribble where he just powered past players with close control. The defenders in Spain can't be that much better/faster can they?

Scored some great goals though, but don't like him fixed out on the right either.

Sorry folks, not into all this Bale adulation, for me he was suddenly put into the world class bracket on the back of one successful season with us. He has the talent for sure but he has to be consistant game in and game out, season after season like Giggs was.

Giggs has never had a season like Bale, Giggs was never considered the best in his team or the league

I know he's not respected as much here, but I will say watching Luka play still hits me harder than watching Bale. Little guy is in the form of his life right now.

Neither Giggs or Bale has had a season like Clive Allen where he scored 49 goals.
Giggs has been a very important player for Man United, in his prime certainly a world class player. Not considered the best in the team because he is played with some excellent players. No one has won more in English football. Definitely one of the best of all time, can't say that about Bale yet.
