Now Xavi is there and they are out of CL I fully expect them to blow it all up and try to rebuild through the academy and predominantly Barça/Spanish trained players with a very pass heavy plan. Rumors already that Xavi is open to letting Frenkie de Jong, Ter Stegen, Serginho Dest and more leave in January.

I’m sure there are a few deals to be had there.

Dest would be interesting as he will be apart of the US core for some time. Not sure how well he'd do as a wing back in Contes 3-5-2.

I'd be interested in de Jong & Ter Stegen(if Lloris leaves) but also who wouldnt? Dest might be interesting as his ceiling is very high & is what Conte is looking for at RWB but I think that would be kinda fucked to do to Emerson to be honest given he was Dest's competition & Barca essentially threw him out of the joint after starting the day prior.

This feels pretty desperate from the other Spanish clubs giving up 8% of their TV rights plus interest on the initial payment for the sake of about £50m per club paid back over 25 years. Real and Barca opted out.

Actually think he would be perfect as a RWB as I believe it would be his best position. Very talented, but not sure what his price would be and if there may be better options based on combination or ability / price.

Rumors linking him to Bayern for around 25M in January.

Saw this morning they can’t even register Torress until they get rid of someone else or reduce wage bill. What a ridiculous way to run a football club. Although la liga FFP rules really are handicapping Real and Barca. Wish PL was so tough.

Saw somewhere they were asking Dembele to take a pay cut… so they can play Torres’s instead of him :wideyed:

Would love to see how they positioned that to him :bag:

Dembele who just caught covid at his own wedding, and his team-mates apparently didn't even know he had a girlfriend.

Doesn't seem like he fits in particularly well just reading that.

Hey Ousmane, congrats on the wedding. Look, I know the fans don’t particularly like you and the squad barely talk to you but we’ve just signed somebody to play in your position. We’ve made a bit of a boo-boo and can’t actually play him unless you take a massive pay cut so what do you say? 10-20% less???

Come on old boy be a sport, I’m sure the medical team like you.

The Laporta speech today was hysterical saying “ They were back and would be going after Haaland and the rest of Europe should be scared “ I might be wrong as only caught tail end on Sky but I don’t think they’ve been able to register Dani Alves since the summer.

This club is such a disaster. They seriously do attract some absolute financial idiots as presidents. Laporta taking big money loan after big money loan to sign players they cant register even though they take pay cuts & hand out new bloated contracts like there water all the while adding to their debt that needs to be repaid soon. Really feel for their fans. At some point its all going to come to a head & the result will not be a good one. Barca is of the belief they are too big to fail but rejected the La Liga bailout loan in favor of keeping their failed super league dream alive. Such a dumb club. Fascinating to watch unfold, though. Here is a hint, Barca: You went through this before. You are not too big to fail.

Extending the contract of a player they don't really want to keep in order to register their new signing.

Absolute basket case.

“Lets make this someone else’s problem! Oh I have an idea! Future us! Yeah, lets make this calamity their problem!” - FC Barcelona

Maybe next time you make sure the manager understands how terrible of shape you are in before hiring him & letting him know you can’t sign anyone at the moment? How’s that for a crazy idea? This club is trying to bankrupt itself again only this time Johan Cruyff isnt around to save it & rebuild it.
