Wouldn’t say they are entirely different. Everyone reckons Onomah best position is exactly where Skipp plays. I’d only say they are entirely different based on the fact Skipp actually puts a shift in and is full of energy. Where as Onomah let’s the game pass him by and strolls around like he’s on a Sunday afternoon walk in the park. And Skipp is 18 by the way.
My point was that Skipp and Onomah are nothing like Barrios. Not comparing them to each other.

Skipp was 18 a month ago. Not exactly brimming with experience.

I’d actually say Skipp is very similar to Barrios. But obviously Barrios is much more experienced. It will probably be 20/21 before you see Skipp starting PL games. Of course that’s all dependant on our spending.

They're doing great for us now, glad we stopped looking for replacements.

What about kane?
That’s not the point mason and benteleb were still better than the new signings and we’re not replaced by new signing either, Dembele and Dier were already here.
I understand your point regarding better passers in midfield but what if they are already here?
Pochettino has talked in the past about not blocking the way for our talented kids

Always lets us down in the end though. Our passing has been subpar for several seasons now. Its why without Eriksen on his top game we look like dog shit. Because we have athletes in midfield, not passers.

dtxspurs for manager ?

I mean, man... Is it really that hard to see our passing is subpar compared to other teams? We have one consistently good passer, Dele is not that, Lamela is not that, Dembele is not that. Hell our second and third best passers on our team are the striker and a CB.

I'd loved to be proven wrong but you are one hell of an optimist if you think Skipp and Onomah are going to be the key to us getting out of this midfield funk we're in. We've produced 1 no doubt level player required of the quality. Winks is getting there but he needs to prove his body can handle a full season and KWP has been great in 2 games. Thats it over the past how many years?

@dtxspurs you doh me, but in the winter transfer wish list you have banged on about a player you have only seen YouTube clips and read about, who plays in a weak league

he will pick a winning team week in week out, providing they look good on youtube vids

might have to change the laws of the game though, because HG players are not on his shopping list
How is it so hard to comprehend for you that when you get rid of 7 non HG players you have room to add Non HG players?

Vorm, Nkoudou, Sissoko, Dembele, Wanyama, Janssen, Llorente. Oh shit look, I can buy non HG players again.

how hard is it for you to comprehend we need to find 2 or 3 HG players when the new rule comes in. at the moment I believe we definitely need 1 more so we can then list a full squad in the CL

also if we was lucky to get rid of 7 players, if Poch wants what he likes it will mean only 4 coming in, and that only leaves the door open for 1 more non HG

HG replacement 3rd string goalie for Vorm. You were about the only person on the entire site who thought it was impossibly to find one of those. Bring in whoever to fill out the roster, I don't give a damn but we should be able to find a player who would love to sit on the bench from the championship so we can have a full roster. It's really not as complicated as you make it out to be.

if we got rid of Vorm at the moment he wouldn't even sit on the bench.

I believe that we hope Whiteman will be that player eventually but just not now. with a keeper if you have a shit 3rd choice (Rob Green) you are 1 long term injury and another injury from wrecking the season. you need very good with a future, not desperate because it's the premier league

Our 3rd string goalie before we switched Gazza over Vorm this season had played something like 3 games across 5 seasons. And yes I looked it up. I think its worth the risk, just like every other team does.

because over the last 2 seasons we have had 3 good keepers, but if we had gone for Rob Green and replaced Vorm, then Lloris had his injury, and so did Gazzaniga we would of had to have Rob Green in goal, and a lot of moaning fans because we lost because of a shit keeper

Good young keepers want to play and progress their careers - which is why that other bloke left. What was his name? Began with M... (replaced by Pau Lopez). Jordan Archer also...

I’m being serious, only you dtxspurs can see the slump we are in and we have only 1 consistent good passer of the ball despite finishing 3-2-3 in the last 3 years and having our best start for donkey years.
This is Pochettino 5 season with us now, if he wanted a playmaker type midfielder we would have one by now

Yeah, because Poch always gets what he wants in the transfer window...

Wasn't it just a few years ago Poch was chasing Isco? And Barkley last summer?

Pochettino wouldn’t still be here if he had no say in transfers.
I read he asks for what type of player/position he wants ,the scouts come back with options and Pochettino has the final say

Isco is not a cm and I doubt he would have played Barkley there either

Imho firstly, we don’t need him, for the very reasons you stated. Therefore, I am very underwhelmed. But there is truth in we have agreed (verbally) but not officially offered. And personally pray we don’t.
Understand from a Boca season ticket holder that he is highly rated there....this feels like a Poch pushed buy....which I think is a good thing?
