They should have let members buy as many tickets as they wanted like they have done for all the other European games. That would've meant less tickets on general sale and less Benfica fans!

Does it really matter if they were? Correct me if I'm wrong but on the 20 odd euro aways I've done, watching our club, our fans have been allover the home end. Leverkusen, Milan, Inter, Basel, Madrid, etc.... Why is it ok for us to do it yet moan when it happens at WHL?
I was at Seville, Milan both times, Twente, Bremen and Madrid in the away section. Have never say in the home section at an away game and to be honest I don't think would want to. If at a last resort I had to do so I would have enough respect and savvy not to turn up in a spurs shirt complete with scarf and a st George's flag.

Regardless of whether it's Spurs fans or fans of another club, there's no problem with away fans going into home sections if they are sensitive to their situation - namely that they don't take the piss by over celebrating goals, overtly displaying their colours, waving their flags, singing for their team or, as happened on Thursday night, booing the home team. If they do any of the aforementioned and subsequently find themselves attacked by home supporters, then they can have only themselves to blame. Thankfully, it seems that Spurs fans were admirably self controlled on the night, so there were no major incidents.

I noticed this too and I have quite a few issues with how it manifested.

1. The 1882, who have contributed to fantastic European atmospheres at every home European game this season, were not allocated a block this time.

2. For every other European game this season members have been able to buy more than one ticket. This time they were allowed only one, meaning that a tonne of tickets went on general sale.

3. The Benfica fans clearly 'block booked' in the East Upper and West Upper

4. The Benfica fans in those blocks wore their own team's colours, scarves, flags etc and flagrantly flouted the rule Spurs have for the home sections of the ground that these areas are for 'home supporters only'. They should have been ejected.

I'm sorry, but this was a fucking catastrophe of a fail from the ticketing department. It just keeps getting worse, they only give a shit about the money they bring in on a matchday, it is so obvious they couldn't give two flying fucks about the atmosphere or who is actually sitting in the seats.

They are towing a really thin line with the fans now. If the performances on the pitch don't get any better then they will find themselves begging the fans to come back, it is so short termist and, once again, shows absolute contempt for the link between the fans and the success of the team.

I am so embarassed and disgusted by the management of our club this season, it just keeps getting worse.
