That is absolute rubbish. He had a pass completion rate of only 79% in the game which really isnt very good considering a winger is unlikely to have to make too many incisive passes. Technically, he's actually a very poor player, as highlighted in the international games that he has played in where his passing and crossing has been poor. Try telling someone at Barcelona or Real Madrids youth team that he is technically gifted and they'll have a heart attack laughing. He's a classic English player with lots of pace and intensity in his play and is suited only to play in the high tempo English game. Dont kid yourself that on a technical level in comparison to his counterparts across the globe he is any better than average.

Bentley is a good player with a decent cross and shot. He is not worth 15mil though - 5 is around right. I don't think he is going to grow much more as a player.
Lennon has more potential because pace is rare. He needs to improve his technique - but he has time and the coaches required for this. He needs the discipline and drive to up his game.
So I would choose Lennon between the 2.

Hear Hear! Saying that Bentley is technically one of the best in EPL just tells me how poor EPL is technically so I sure hope that isn't true. Let me name a few who are surely technically superior to this seemingly magnificent Bentley. Ronaldo, Nani, Joe Cole (I know he isn't strictly a winger but he plays on the side often enough), SWP (I think he is technically better though maybe less in terms of position and football brain), Petrov, Kalou, N'Zogbia, and Duff just to name a few wingers who are surely better than Bentley in the technical aspect. Bentley has shown great improvement but it doesn't mean he is a top player in EPL much less the rest of the world. Portugal has the best wingers in Europe and Bentley is miles away in technical terms from players like Ronaldo, Quaresma, Nani, or Simao. If we weren't prepared to pay more than 10 million pounds for Downing then we shouldn't even think of 15 for Bentley because they seem to be similar players for me in terms of ability and style.
We need some realism in our player assessments for sure. Besides, Nani only cost Man U about 12 million so why should we pay the same for Bentley? Arshavin is a more viable option for me. I would love if we can get Diego though.

It always amazes me how much local lads like Bentley get talked up, yes it's good to be proud of where you come from, but don't let it get in the way of reality. We want the best for Spurs and the best currently doesn't come from these shores, particularily when your talking about the creative positions on the pitch. We're not playing at the Euros in the summer and their is a very good reason why, we're simply not good enough.

I'm not a fan of Chimbondas, but for their goal, he got done like a kipper by a good touch from Bentley. If it was reversed, would we be saying that it was a good touch from our winger, or would we be saying that their full back gifted it to us?
But anyway, 15 mill? Don't think so. Would like to see Bentley at the lane as we need options down the flanks, but would hope we wouldnt spend 15 big ones on him.

He'd add some proper competition for Lennon that's for sure but he hasn't as much pace. I think we'd be better off bringing in someone a little more of the finished article.
I think he hasn't signed a new deal yet as he's after more money. I read somewhere he was happy at Blackburn and liked a lot of the backroom staff.

over the two i would take bentley-and that isnt because im a blackburn fan..
lennon is quick-but what else does he have to his game??
whereas bentley isnt the quickest of players but he has more to his game then lennon-you could maybe class lennon has a on trick pony-all pace, no end product..
i think anything below 12million would be a rip of for blackburn-so in my opinion yes 15million is about right..
i sometimes see lennon linked away from spurs for 15million-if lennon is worth that much i would think bentley is well worth it..

I can count, on ONE hand, the number of English players who are 'anywhere' close to top class....IF you listen to those who actually know (those who have not been exposed to the EPL publicity machine lol). That said, we are not going to find 'THE' player that we need in these islands! We will have to look to the European mainland, Spain in particular. We appear to be taking the Euro approach to football....so why not do it properly (and according to Ramos) and get away from the 'old style' JT type brain dead, classic CB. Let's employ a cultured CB who will be as comfortable at CF as in his own defensive area! No names....Comolli is being well paid to find 'Mr Right'. He may or may not be up to it! COYS!

says it all really. If Blackburn fans are trying to convince us he is worth 15 million he is worth half. Even Ashley young is better than bentley. Has end product and pace. ashley young is a decent player-but they both play in different positions-bentley on the right wing, young left...ashley young can play right wing aswell, but no way as good as bentley..
its not just blackburn fans who think bentley is good-theres a reason why he is getting talked about alot-his performances this season and last have been brilliant..
if bentley goes for anything less then 10million its a bargain to which ever club it is..
he isnt the quickest, but he has everything else to his game-he gets his fair share of assists and scores goals to..on current form he is the best right winger in the league(behind ronaldo)-and you cant argue with that..
