Bentley - Enough is Enough

consistently the worst play on the pitch all season. constantly loses possession, doesn't track back, can't beat his man, never crosses from a good position (alwaystoo dep) and REFUSES TO LOOK UP WHEN HE CROSSES.

it doesn't matte if you can put the ball on to a flies toe from a thousand metres if you never actually look to see where the fly is.

just drop him and be done with it,. bentley is an absolute embarassment

The team usually has to carry him. He's abysmal, especially for his price. I know he says how he loves the club etc, but affection isn't enough to keep a player in the side that is inconsistent and out of sorts.

if bentley hadnt put in a good performance away to burnley we wouldnt even be playing manure in the final. he doesn't play like that much though.. should seriously consider playing him in the middle until we get some target men to aim at.

i wouldn't mind at all if he replaced jenas in the middle, and then jenas could go and firefight/fill-in in other areas

Why can't you want them to both be good?

I don't get these silly little comparisons people try and make all the time - as if they're justifying themselves by a difference in performance of like 0.5.

None of them really deserve much praise from last night.

There have been times where Bentley has been better than Jenas, and times when Jenas has been better than Bentley.

However, don't you wish you were talking about it in a context of Jenas having scored 1 and set-up 2 or Bentley having scored 2 and thrown in a load of decent crosses? As opposed to, well, Jenas gave the ball away just a little bit less than Bentley.

That's the bigger issue for me.

Bentley is rubbish when he has nothing to aim for. We had nothing in attack last night. Thats the reality of it. He isn't a player who is good at defending, so he needs to be playing attacking football. What could he have done better last night? All he had was Fraizer Campbell to aim for. Football is not about individuals, but a team of players that compliment each other. And we didn't have the right players to compliment Bentley last night.
