totally agree .. any attacking player wearing the no.5 is a bit odd. Esp if our numbers are being freed up by outgoing players or players that are surplus to requirements.

Whether they have just jummped on the fact Lennon is wearing 7 pre-season, or if it is true, i dont know!

We haven't worn 1-11 this pre season, players have worn their squad numbers it would seem, or at least just 1-20.

Bent has been both 18 and 10, King was 5 the other day, but there is an article saying Bentley has got the number 5, because Lennon has taken the number 7.

Well the above article was very impresting (must rep the person who posted it) and I reckon Lennon may go eventually anyways if he don't get a look in.

If this happens then Bentley would probably put a reserve on it and take it over as soon as poss.

I think the no.5 shirt aquired some midfield kudos when Zidane started wearing it. Other midfielders followed suit as did one Edgar Davids at spurs.
