You're right in a sense, but United have money because they built the core of their team from within the academy, were successful and ultimately spent their rewards on more players.

They weren't injected with a load of fresh capital, their money has been earned.

This is true. They got lucky with a good generation of players at once. It so rarely happens.

However, since that one lucky generation Fergie has relied on a plethora of £20m plus talent... and Darren Fletcher (who I can only imagine is his son)

we can hardly be ones to moan about others spending money, we've spent shitloads and we're 11th. (we do have the fizzy pop cup to show for it though).

United may have got a little lucky with a good group of players but Fergie continues to turn over teams to challenge for the title. Liverpool however, spend shitloads but never get anywhere near. So you have to give props for Fergie really.
