Kane could have and should have won things with us - including the league and Champions League. We owe him nothing in that respect.
Of course it will be easier elsewhere.
But that's down to Kane's own ambition.

I have been vocal about the fact that Kane is not a leader on the field. He doesn't have that Parkeresque quality of shaking people up.
The fact that we were so close to success so many times over the last few years but didn't get there is ALSO ON HIM.

Click bait article, nothing about the inner workings of Berbatovs transfer, just that he presented the transfer request in the presence of his agent and lawyer... some insight there!

The whole interview was the best possible thing for Neville to launch his new podcast out whatever it is, total exposure.

As for Kane doing it, possibly naive but tactically fairly astute, ball is firmly in Levy's court, Kane distancing himself from being the bad guy.

"Yes, like you say, I want to be playing in the biggest games. The biggest moments."

You have done that Harry you should be saying "I want to win titles"

Of course - every player plays their part and has to take responsibility. If he gets a move away then we just carry on like we always have. Club>individual player.

There's a paradox there though - he often puts personal achievements ahead of team ones. There are examples where he's almost demanded to play when he's not fit, which has rarely (if ever) been in the best interests of the team.

Sometimes the two are on opposite paths.

He's definitely been part of the problem, but there were so many weak links in our teams in all of those finals. It's quite unforgiving at that level. He's been unlucky with his fitness going into finals and needed some help from presumably sharper players but no one stepped up. At better sides he'll get more chances, someone else will chip in with a goal if he doesn't perform, but we didn't have that and that's kind of infuriating. You're right about his leadership limitations though, and same with Hugo. We need some proper men in there

Yes Kane has not played particularly well in the 3 finals we have had, and being semi injured/unfit didnt help.

But we can't deny that the difference in quality between him and the rest of the squad has afforded him far less chances than he should have had.

Hes a generational talent and our last season at WHL where we were incredible at home and had a fantastic back 4 was the time in which that squad needed reinforcing. We missed that opportunity and whether you agree with the reasons for not doing so, or not, its not Kane's fault.

Loved Berba as a player for us, but it gets my tits that he gets invited back as a legend after forcing a move in that way. Would rather see the tea lady invited on the pitch as the legend

Gotta love how supportive and loyal our ex-players are to the club - Sheringham can’t keep his trap shut and now Berbatov is at it.

Good words from Berbatov

Although speculation concerning Kane's future in north London is currently rife, Berbatov has admitted that he still sees reasons as to why the former Leicester City loanee may stay at the club.

The Bulgarian added: "Footballers are different and they all have different views, but I believe there are still some big reasons for Kane to stay at Spurs.

"He knows he is going to be starting every game, and he has proven that this doesn't make him complacent, he is always pushing in every game and scoring goals, it doesn't go to his head and he can continue doing that if he stays. The fans adore him and he is a club legend.

"Financially, I'm sure the club will look to do all they can to keep him. He is in a place where he knows he is loved and he knows if he stays he will break records but there will always be that question 'will he win anything with Spurs while he is there?'

Odd Berbatov can't remember how he forced his transfer through, it will forever be etched upon my memory of him (and the reason I have zero respect or gratitude for him unlike Carrick, Bale or Modric.)

I'll remind you Dimi - You refused to get your lazy arse off the bench when Jol wanted you on the pitch. Forgot that did you? I haven't.

Oh, and then when the club agreed for you to talk to City you flew to Manchester and held talks with United.

Modric refused to train or go on a pre-season tour to the US to force a move. The previous season he'd handed in a transfer request to move to Chelsea...

Didn't Woodgate clatter Berbatov in training because of his attitude? "Just fuck off then" or something along those lines.

Ah man, no, I try and avoid simply using the rating system to answer...especially with a pretty lady such as yourself, but no man, it's a team sport and that's not fair

That said.. I really don't know wtf the obsession is with trophys from an individual players point of view.

Kane's a great example and let me expand.

1. He could go 'journeyman' and he could right now go to literally any team in the world and get his trophy(s). He knows that, we know that, everyone knows that. What does it prove? Fuck all. Doesn't make him a better player, it gives him something to put on his mantlepiece and bore his grandkids with

Or..

2. He could stick with the club he's grown up with, through thick and thin, commit and love that club and eschew all others.

His playing days are numbered, I honestly can't remember how old he is now (I used to know all that shit by rote, I can't be arsed anymore) but I remember his first turnout for us at a Monaco friendly, I was there, (we got battered but I was so proud my young son shouted and sung all match long and was the darling of the tiny crowd!) it was post berbatov sure, probably Defoe days yeah? Anyway that's not the point, it was a while ago, he's getting on a bit and has he got another 3 or 4 years in the top flight on him? He's got a long term career to think of. Let's be honest he's got a bit of a speech impediment and therefore appears (not is, appears. Or maybe is, I dunno) a bit slow witted ... He's not going to be a pundit with the best will in the world. Or a Gucci model or star in Fast and Furious XV11. Best thing for him is to be a one club man, at one of the top 10 clubs in the world, and stick with that club through into his middle and even old age and be a legend.

Better than selling that away for a fekkin copper trophy that'll just gather dust and bore his grandkids

Échos of greatness and all that huh

Anyway. Consider that a 'disagree'. ?

Fancy a drink sometime if that's you in your profie ? ??

Ferguson never trusted Berbatov in the finals I'm sure without checking he didn't play him in 2 CL finals
