It is SILLY SEASON:grin:

:eek:mg:

Actually, there have been very strong allegetations that he was aloof and unpopular which have nothing to do with his final few weeks and his strop. The same allegetations have surfaced at OT. I have already said this...I think you need to take it on board as at least a strong possibility.

I disagree with everything you've said pretty much, oh well.

And his unpopularity at Old Trafford? Top Scorer and a league winner's medal. Your whole team spirit spiel is based on barely anything.

If Ferguson says he isn't really in his plans for next season I expect him too move.

To be honest if he thinks he's going to disrupt the Rooney/hernandez partnership he's in dream land. He's obviously happy to spend lots of the time on the bench if he wants to stay...beacuse 'fighting for his place' looks pretty redundant from were I'm sitting given that he was the League's top scorer and doesn't get a look in.

A bit harsh there as we all know it's a squad game and even in the likelihood of a Rooney-Hernandez partnership, Fergie will rotate his squad not just in personnel but tactically as well too and Berbatov will more than play his fair share of games and will be a key squad player for them.

I don't see the notion in selling Berbatov from Uniteds point of view but, playing devils advocate, I can more than see his value as a pawn in any potential deal for Messrs Modric and/or Bale.

 I did say aloof - probably paraphrasing, as I wouldn't have used that term to explain my own perception - the term I use, and have done several times, is acrid. We all make mistakes, don't have any problems admitting mine.

Other than that, I don't agree with anything you say on this subject - that's like. My home team-sprit spiel is based on persistent allegations, occurring at two consequetive clubs (one of who he was desprate to join, and has been winning things at), and from well-respected ITKs, recognised as such on this forum. A lot of posters would agree with me that where there is no definitive proof, there is a hell of a lot of fire, and, as I said, ITKs well respected on this forum. If you don't want to accept that that's fine.

Funny though, as I've checked your posts on other topics, and we seem to agree on a few things.

Tant pis - as they say in France:adios:

totally agree SP. Too much smoke has followed his career for no fire to be involved. In saturdays case actions spoke a lot louder and clearer than words.

i will eat my own poo if fergie lets us sign berabtov back. absolute no chance and only way u wud see him in spurs shirt again is if we done the absolute unthinkable and gave them modric. no chance on neither. i just dont get this berba rumour. united have right to put xtra year on to get more money and ferguson never ever sells players to rivals as such esp ones who can make big difference

Its not really harsh, all the big games have seen Rooney and Hernandez start - all of them.

The point, for me anyway, is that Hernandez has now established himself as first choice with Rooney. Yes Fergie will change it about for different games but when United play in Europe and against the better sides in the League Berbatov will be on the bench.

Alot of people on this have never played football at any level judging by some of the comments i read constantly.
To be build a succesful 'team' you don't just go out and buy the biggest names or even just the most skilful. To build a team you must take into consideration the most important thing in the dressing room...TEAM SPIRIT!! its what won small teams like Porto the CL, its what gives teams like Blackpool hope, its a major factor why we got 4th the season before, our team spirit was amazing apperently.Talent obviously also helps, but i wish we would stop throwing all these names in the hat who we think would help us but carry major attitude issues.
Berba, class yes, but we all know he is a prima donna, if he was flash at the biggest club in the world with the best manager of all time, how do you think he would treat us and Harry? well we know,he has shafted us before.....
he has done it to us before and would again, and don't forget we got 4th after he fucked off.....that may not ba a coincidence, we have to get a younger hungary striker in, one who wants to play for our club, not a little turd like berba who mugged us off at the drop of a fergie wink.

Dimitar Berbatov 'would consider' a sensational return to Tottenham

Out-of-favour Bulgarian almost certain to leave Old Trafford following Champions League final omission & is willing to consider a controversial £10m return to White Hart Lane

EXCLUSIVE
By Greg Stobart | Northern Correspondent

Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov is keen on making a sensational return to Tottenham, Goal.com has learned.

The Bulgarian striker looks set to leave Old Trafford for £10 million this summer after he was completely left out of the squad for the Champions League final defeat to Barcelona last Saturday.

Berbatov joined United from Spurs in acrimonious circumstances on the last day of the summer transfer window in 2008, but he has told friends he would be interested in a return to White Hart Lane.

The 30-year-old was a huge hit in north London as he scored 46 goals in all competitions in two seasons at Spurs following a £10.9m switch from Bayer Leverkusen in 2006 - but he angered fans and the club by refusing to play as he forced a move to Old Trafford.

Tottenham are believed to have discussed the possibility of re-signing Berbatov but are unlikely to make a bid due to the unsettling influence he had in the dressing room during his time at White Hart Lane.

Chairman Daniel Levy is also wary of Sir Alex Ferguson's interest in playmaker Luka Modric, and any discussions about Berbatov will inevitably raise the prospect of a deal including the Croatian. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is adamant that Modric will not be sold despite the 25-year-old's suggestion that he is open to a move to a club in the Champions League.

"Dimitar will take some time to think about his future but the only clubs in England he would consider are those in the Champions League - or Totttenham," a source close to the player told Goal.com. "Right now, he does not want to play for United - and they don't seem to want him either."

Berbatov appeared with the rest of the United squad on Monday as they paraded through Manchester to celebrate winning the club's 19th English title.

But both the player and the club accept he will leave Old Trafford, with Berbatov out of contract next June and refusing to sign a one-year rolling deal worth £120,000-a-week.

Berbatov finished as the Premier League's joint top scorer with 21 goals but is unhappy at being relegated down the United pecking order following the emergence of Javier Hernandez.

Despite his age, he will not be short of suitors, although United will want to recoup as much as possible of the club record £30.75m fee they paid Spurs for the player in September 2008.

Berbatov is understood to favour a move to German giants Bayern Munich, while Italian side Juventus have also expressed an interest in the former Bayer Leverkusen striker.

Newcastle have also been linked with a £7.5m bid but Berbatov is understood to have no interest in a move to St James' Park despite supporting the club when he grew up.

Once Berbatov leaves Old Trafford, Sir Alex Ferguson will turn his attention to securing a younger replacement for the Bulgarian.

goal.com spouts cr*p the whole time, I don't believe a word of that

They are sensationalist, because most of their traffic is driven by transfer rumours, but they do have some well-informed writers. That Greg Stobart does seem to have some good sources.

Fergie left Berba out of the champions league squad for tactical reasons. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't think he wants to sell him.

Remember its a quiet period for transfers so the papers/media are fully on make up sh*t mode.

tactical reasons...

hmm, the only striker they have that can hold the ball up & take the pressure off when they actually ever get the ball against barca in the european cup final...the golden boot winner...& he wasnt even on the bench!!

their hold up option was michael owen!...it wasnt tactical...theyve fallen out!
