Yeah and Berby is really gonna swap Spurs for Man City isn't he. If he goes it will be to AC Milan or Real Madrid or a team of that calibre.

Given the choice, if Berba is to leave this summer then I'd rather he do it quickly and quietly allowing Ramos to rebuild throughout the entire window. I don't want to see a situation where Ramos thinks he's staying and buys players to compliment Dimitar, only to then find he leaves at the last minute.

for Bulgarian journos yesterday: I'm going to translate the most interesting points. Bulgarian mates could correct my translation, if necessary.

J: Is there a problem between your agent and Ramos?
B: No, I don't think there is any problem. Maybe Ramos is a little bit unhappy with all these speculations as he wants to keep me at WHL. In several weeks the transfer window opens and there will be a lot of rumours about my future. To be honest, I'm not unhappy with this as it shows that I'm doing my job well. By the end of the summer it will be clear what has happened (i.e. where B. is going to play next season).
J: Would you comment on Milan's interest?
B: No, that's my agent's job.

J: Still, what do you think about Milan?
B: Well, Milan is Milan. It's one thing to play for them, it's quite another thing to play against them. Future will tell.

i have 2 lads from bulgaria staying with me and i got them to translate it for me and they said the same as what Berbati has said
they also say that its his agaent that whats to sell him to other clubs so he can make money for himself but i think we knew that already:bang:

considering we still haven't replaced Ginola on the left i wouldn't hold much hope of replacing berbatov if we let him go.

milan is a bigger club than spurs, always has been always will be, 7 european champions speaks for themselves.
Yes they are, they always have been, but..............

always will be??????????

They are out of CL this season, sitting 5th in their league and are going to compete with us in UEFA Cup next season. and their squad is aging. There's no way in the world you can say they always will be. Who knows what we can do next season with Juande's favorite players in the squad.

This is at the airport in Sofia, they are staying in a royal residence near Sofia, the ceremony will take place there, at 21:00 local time and it will be shown directly on the TV so I am waiting to watch it.
As for the interview
He says that soon the speculations will start again and maybe they will continue for a long time but ,honestly, he is pleased somehow with this because the news around him shows that he is doing well his job on the pitch.
Tottenham is a big, popular club, and he has always tried to improve his skills no matter where he is playing - in Leverkusen and in Spurs, and he is happy that has the opportunity to play there.
About the PSV game he says that they didn't have luck and now the only thing they can do is to practise penalties.
Also he says that he is very pleased with the Bulgarian player of the year award and hopes to keep on playing in the same way, and thanked to the journalists for the recognition

A story where he says "Actually I'm quite happy here, I'll happily stay for at least another season yet" won't sell papers will it?.

It won't make Berbati happy either.

The trick with questions like these is to answer the question without actually answering the question so that no ones the wiser.
Seems to me thats exactly what Berba did.

Every time I read these Bulgarian media info regarding Berba it seems to me like if they assume something which is unknown to us regarding him/his present at the club/his intentions.

To put it in straight English, they seem much more straight forward people and it's evident for them that Berbatov wants out of the club for a bigger one at the end of the season, and basically just have a good laugh about English political correction regarding transfer availability. And his agent follows this trend with his not so very diplomatic comments.

Asking questions like 'When do you think you will be going to Manchester United?' seems to me less 'honest' and more 'cockfag'.

They aren't more 'straightforward people', the journalists are just being incredibly rude and presumptuous, and causing trouble for the sake of generating press interest. If you can have an interview which claims to show when Berbatov will be going to United it sells papers - it is not, however, good journalism.

Also, Berbatov playing for United raises the profile of the whole game in Bulgaria, and also Bulgarian football as a whole. So obviously press from Bulgaria are going to be talking about a move every 5 minutes. Again, not 'straightforward', but manipulative.

In fact, it pisses Berba off. He's said it before on many occasions, he refuses to address the comments, and it's been pointed out how annoyed he can become (which affects his game) when pestered in such a way.

It's not 'English political correctness' not to discuss transfers until they are sorted. It's common fucking courtesy and politeness. If Berba starts commenting now that he wants to go to United in the summer, how do you think the crowd, the management, and his fellow players will react? It's insane to do so, even if you might think it's being more 'straightforward'.

More 'straightforward people'? 'Transfer-engineering ****s' is the phrase I think you're looking for, actually.

That post has seriously annoyed me

No, and it won't stop endless speculation or his Agent $hit stirring either.

Last Summer he appeared on Bulgarian TV on a chat show and spoke very eloquently about his first season in English Football, with nothing but praise for his teammates at Spurs and the Club as a whole, but still all the Man Utd/Chel$ski stuff went on...and on....in the British press. It goes back to Bulgaria via the internet, and then when he goes home, that's the first thing they ask him.

He's not irreplaceable. We have Berbatov, yet there are plenty of teams who do not have Berbatov who are FAR MORE successful than us.

How is this possible?

because the rest of our team is a pile of shit?

His agent played a big role in Berbatov's arrival at WHL. He presented Spurs to him very very positively, e.g., that Spurs are (almost) as good as Arsenal ( at that time Spurs were 4th in the Prem), that they have 6 English internationals, that they are a very rich club that is going places, that Ferguson is unpredictable etc. Now, his agent is put under pressure in Bulgaria. Maybe several times a day he is being told: "If you are a good agent, you will help Berbatov to move to the likes of Real, Barca or Milan. Berbatov is the only player of that stature who doesn't play in the CL etc." (Not to mention how much his agent would earn from a big transfer.) Neverthless, it would be very naive to suggest that there may be any disagreement between Berbatov and his agent. The latter cannot afford to do something his client wouldn't accept.
