I caught Danny Kelly on Friday night asking people to ring in with their best and worst Derby memories.

For me the best is an odd one. When we beat Arsenal at the Lane November 1999, the memory that sticks is Jose Dominguez beating Martin Keown leaving him on his arse, waiting for him to get back up again so he could do it again (something Hoddle did regularly), only for Keown to kick him six foot into the air. Keown was already walking off the field before the red was shown or Jose hit the ground.

Worst is the 1987 League Cup semi. I think we had never been behind in the tie but lost the replay. I came out of hospital after having tonsils removed caught the second half and was left feeling so sick.

So what's yours??

The 14/15 years of being beaten by them regularly is the worst memory.

The best memories are from the last 2 or 3 years when we started putting things right at last!

David Bentley's wonder goal. Aaron Lennon's equaliser in that 4-4 game. Rafa van der Vaart's demeanour and actions during these games. He absolutely fucking loves it! His goals.

Danny Rose's goal. Younes Kaboul's winner at the Emirates. Kyle Walker's winner at the Lane. Harry Redknapp's record against Arsene Wenger as our manager. All great stuff which cheers me up no end!

Going back a bit further... Gazza's free kick and that whole semi final game. Great memories.

Overall, we haven't had much to smile about since 1995ish until recently. So please, please, please let us carry that on today!

Best is tough. 2-1 Rose, because of what it meant as we'd gone so long without a league win v them and we really needed the win to kickstart our champions league push. Then there's last seasons 2-3, it can't really be beaten can it? The 4-5 loss at the lane holds special memory for different reasons, because that morning I could easily have died and come the final whistle I was thinking about nothing other than having just seen 9 different goalscorers in our new managers first official game in charge against our biggest rivals. Had we not lost that game, that memory would probably top it.

Let's not forget the 5-1 either, magical still. But I think the 2-1 in 09/10 tops it for me.

As for worst, once again memories from my personal life are intertwined with events. My grandmother died on 8 November 2003 when we'd been beating Arsenal for most of the game at Highbury only for them to come back and win. That was a shit day. And this season I barely enjoyed us beating them 2-1, despite it being a great day, as I was going through a painful breakup. But for pure footballing reasons I think the worst has to be the FA Cup semi final in 2001. Went all the way to fucking Manchester, Hoddles first game in charge, Campbell making his come back, we took the league. Then Sol crocked himself on Parlour, we lost, and in the ensuing months we lost Campbell to them with his final game for us having been that one. That game was the beginning of the end for Hoddle, and it was his first game in charge.

Semi in 2001 I think it was, terrible day. Also the 5-4 at the Lane a few years back, another horrible day.

Best surprisngly have been at there place, the 3-2 last year was probably one of the best days ever and the 4-4 a few years ago, amazing stuff.

Lets hope we get another amazing result today:grin:

i think a few people may have a new worst memory...

At 2 nil i knew we would lose , the effort from the players has been pathetic, though i stopped watching it in the second half walker looked like the only one who was playing out of his skin

Gut wrenching defeat. My Mrs is a gooner. I've told her to give it a week or too.

Can't believe it.

Today is the worst!

Totally agree. Probably the first derby game, especially away, where I actually believed we are the better team and then that happened. I still believe we are the better side and will finish above them but I ain't looking forward to work on Monday.
