Being a commuter on the wonderful London Underground I get so bored reading the same cr*p spouted by our ridiculous xenophobic press in this miserable weather that I am looking for some entertainment on my way to and from work each day.

Can anyone recommend some great books on Spurs that I can add to my amazon wish list for Christmas?

Any recommendations will be gratefully received.

Lilywhite & Blue- a quick read but going to be worth a few quid in years time
It a 1000 copy match worn kit book, also Shirt, Shorts and Spurs by other past kit man Roy Reyland is a great read.

There's one I read a while back, by Ally Gold I think it was, detailing every game of the season where we narrowly missed out on 4th on the last day. Ode to Jol I think it's called. Very good book. Enjoyable.

I've been told by a lot of people that The Glory Game, by Hunter Davies is an excellent one as well. Been meaning to get that one for a while.

Definitely The Glory Game by Hunter Davies.

Emancipation through Muscles by Michael Brenner and Gideon Reuveni has a really interesting chapter on us and Ajax.

Greavsie: The Autobiography by Jimmy Greaves

Glory Glory: My Life with Spurs by Bill Nicholson

Against All Odds by Gary Mabbutt

Great Non-Spurs books:

Football Against The Enemy by Simon Kuper

Inverting the Pyramid by Jonathan Wilson :)bowdown:)

Teambuilding by Rinus Michels

Basically Ant and Bee travel around the world getting into all kind of narrow scrapes and unlikely shenanigans along the way. MUST READ.

Edit: My bad, Spurs books only. Once you've read the Glory Game there's really no need to dig all that much further, I say buy the Glory Game and try and pick up Around the World with Ant and Bee at the same time so when you finished Hunter Davies' sports classic you can move onto Ant and Bee without further delay.

'The Double' by Ken Ferris is a really good read that covers the 1960-61 season.

Avoid the book by our ex kit man, its terrible. Reveals very little was really disappointed in it. Full of mistakes & inaccurate info like saying villa was our main target & ossie was just an add on

Is this any good? I don't hear about it much, saw it at a good football shop near St James Park a couple of years back. The Glory Game is excellent but you would have thought this would be at least as known as it is from our most successful season.

As others have said the glory game is a must read.

Non spurs football book would be the excellent Provided You Dont Kiss Me, about Brian Clough.

Cannot stress how good the Glory Game is. I'd say it's not just the best Spurs book, but one of the best books on anything ever written. Might be biased though.

Also, Morris Keston Superfan!
