Really hope we don’t see Kane Hojbjerg or Bentancur in the side
Needs to be a game for the likes of spence, Sanchez, Tanganga, Skipp, Sarr, Bryan and Lucas
Possibly kulusevski to play too

Forster
Tanganga Sanchez Davies
Spence Sarr Skipp white sessegnon
Lucas Bryan

maybe give Devine a chance too
I agree, but without some of the rested quality we will get beaten.

I think there are good reasons to prioritize this game in particular.

First, if we get through, the 4th round will be played before we return to league games. A lot of our players will have been without competitive games for 4-6 weeks. A Cup game is a great way to get competitive minutes back into the legs before the league starts up again.

Second, we have to make the mentality of the squad about winning, no matter the competition. We only get so many opportunities to win something and we can’t be throwing away chances because it’s hard. Teams that win, expect to win, and play to win.
Conte has already come and blasted the 4th round game being a couple of days after the end of the WC. From what I read/heard, he's not keen on it at all. He even sent Stellini to do the presser in what I saw as a deliberate "I don't care about this" move.

And Stellini proceed to say we will play a strong team, and as posted above, it looks to include Kane. Conte is taking the game seriously.

Everyone is bitching about the WC, but for most of our squad it will be a lengthy break, and only a few players are likely to be impacted in the week or so after the WC.

Just checked out a Forest forum - they pretty much want the same thing 1-2 changes max.

I get what you're saying and it doesn't surprise me that fans of any team hardly ever want their manager to pick a second string side but unfortunately for Forest I believe this is exactly what Steve Cooper will do, regardless of what the Forest fans want.

He is already under pressure and he will want to do everything he can to avoid being bottom of the league going into the break, as that will mean them staying bottom for a long extended period until the league resumes, and psychologically that isn't good for any team and their fans, as it makes the board restless, and getting re-started after the break won't be easy either.

As I posted earlier with Wolves at home to Arsenal and Liverpool being at home to Sputhampton, he will be targeting this home game against Palace at a full house City ground as an opportunity to make ground on these two. For this reason I believe go will hold a few back against us and go full tilt at home to Palace......

Many of the players going to the WC, will not be involved in the latter stages of it. Hence, a good number of them will be back home long before the actual final.
Therefore they will be here to prepare for the continuation of the domestic fixtures in ample enough time.

I mean, you’re probably right.
But exactly when do you give these players a chance?
Skipp should be competitive, as should Bryan
Sarr is highly rated enough to be in the squad,.
harvey white has been given game time in early rounds in seasons before
Tanganga has been useful at times.

We’d sell most of these players to teams of the level forest are at. So ergo these players should be able to hold their own against the players they’d likely (hypothetically)replace.

And of course, the loss you’re predicting would at least highlight the need to upgrade the squad in January
Win or loose the squad will hopefully be upgraded so we needed have to wait for this game to justify a loss to upgrade. No sacrifices needed. Play to win ,.period.

Looser mentality
Mentality doesn't come into it. I would normally say absolutely fucking go for every trophy but the pathetic scheduling of this season means IMO that something has to give. That for me is the Carabao.

Oh yeah sure, absolutely no possible downsides to that approach….

I read somewhere that the next round is to be played on December 19th, which is exactly one day after the world cup final. Is this accurate?
Edit: Sorry, I just saw that this has already been discussed. What a joke this is. Just play the reserves and save the starters for Saturday.

Everyone but the semi finalists will have had at least 2 weeks off, and many in our squad will have had 6 weeks off. I think it’s going to be better to play that game and go for a trophy
