Bluemoon just gets better

You get some idiots, and you get some who talk sense. Same as any other football forum. Bluemoon is no worse than others.

My favourite comment was the one suggesting that we won last night because the pitch was good. And when they suggested that Milan are an easier side to beat than Aris because they play to win. Amazing.
In fairness there is an element of truth to that. Aris parked the bus in a massive way, we couldn't break them down and coupled with a poor pitch the game was fairly stifled. Spurs won with a breakaway goal and surely the openness of the game helped you to a massive extent. Confident we'll beat them at home though.

Redcafe thread on the game last night was a good read. Almost like reading a spurs forum, their fans seemed to be right behind us.

What a wonderful find. The sheer nerve of them suggesting that they can't beat teams because they are playing nobodies who are up for a fight is utterly laughable.

No mates, you haven't got any team spirit, just mercenaries who are there for big pay cheques. That is why you aren't any better,

You should beat them at home, but I guess there plan is to try and catch you guys on the break.

First half I felt we played really well, attacking purpose, decent on the ball - not great at finishing (which is the story of our season).

Second half Milan stepped up, got a bit dirty and we were pegged back - understandable when players of that talent are attacking - but we defended well, battled well and took our chance when it came on the break.

It makes the return leg even more exciting as Milan will need to attack - and one thing we are good at is breaking fast against teams. With Bale and Modric back - it could be a good game, but we need to keep our cool at the back.

I'm positive you boys will beat that team at home though, you have too much talent in your team to lose.

I know what you are hinting at here, when a team turns up and are organised it can be very hard and frustrating to break them down. However you would expect a team containing Tevez and Silva to break them down. Although we learned last season that is not always guarenteed (our game at the Lane against Wolves springs to mind).

I really would expect City to destroy Aris at the CoM, with teams like that one goal can lead to a flood too.

I never want us to play in the Europa league ever again. Playing against Aris. Aris? who the fuck is Aris?!

I am guilty of taking a peek at BM time and again and it makes me wince and cringe. And I am not talking the usual self-bigging chest-thumping banter like in your example. More or less it's typical of football fan forums.

But they have 'massive' threads like this one: 'If twitcher was our manager we'd win near enough to everything'
And they're not being sarcastic, mind.

If you think our place promotes knee-jerk, just try to have a look at their place without facepalming yourself.

I think we are all guilty of visiting BM once in a while ? For me, It re-confirms my sanity.

RDCR07: Spurs are going to get raped at the San Siro, especially since they don't have Bale. For their sake, they must hope they don't concede more than more two goals and they have to score at least one goal. Losing 2-1 would not be bad result for Spurs.

:rofl::rofl: "We are better 'cos teams don't try to beat us" = logic fail:grin:

Its funny reading stuff like that. Because they have a few "star" players and loads of money so that makes them automatically better?

Bizzare.

Marco has his head screwed on though

If only it was only Citeh fans who thought like that...alas, there are quite a few members of this MB who take that as some kinda infallible Yoda pronouncement.

This may just be me, but I completely disagree with everyone who says Man City have the best squad in the Premiership as its an entirely false statement. They have a lot of depth but the squad is really unbalanced. They have too many DM and strikers, whilst completely lacking cover in the fullback positions and in creative areas. Yes they are right in saying that Ballotelli, Tevez and Dzeko are much better than our strike force, but they have no one to supply them other than Silva and Johnson.

I'm still confident we can get into the CL positions this season, and their attitude towards us doesn't change my opinion at all

THIS

Out of interest, how many fans did City take up the Aris?

That's right. I did an arse/aris joke.

...kinda felt, for periods in the first half, that if Milan didn't actually park the bus, they might has well have done.

In fairness sibierski express, intheknow! (no, not a real ITK - so no bashing:grin:), FantasyIreland , BillyShears, Failsworth_Blue, mcfc_brazil, the goats backside, and the Red - collate their opinions, and it sums up my arguements as to why the pessimists on here are way off the mark.

We've done so well this season, I thought, as did most City fans, that after spending another £100m in the summer and buyng Dzeko in the winter that they'd be guaranteed top 4 this season......I/they should have known, money doesn't always equal success and what we have at Spurs cannot be bought.

They 'cheated' though just throwing money at high-waged mercenaries left, right and centre.

Plus they dropped in pretty lucky with the stadium.

Spurs have done it the proper way, building a good squad gradually.

Just need them top notch centre forward options to match our midfield and then we'd really push on!

Plus getting the stadium sorted so we can pay higher wages and keep the squad together.

Nobody is guaranteed anything. I wasn't taking anything for granted and I'm still not. A recent run of mediocre form has come about after we changed our system to accommodate Dzeko. He's a quality player but I feel his immediate inclusion has upset the balance somewhat. (not to mention the system we've been playing to accommodate him hasn't suited him in the slightest, we need more width). I feel once he's had the opportunity to bed in he will be quality. Balotelli isn't far off coming back either. I'm fairly optimistic we will get 4th but we need to up our game with tough aways at Stamford Bridge and Anfield coming up.

Let's be a touch fair here lads, I've been over on Bluemoon a fair few times, mostly to revel after a great Spurs win and their forum is very similar to ours. You get your nobheads who talk bollocks and then you get your lads like 'I'mNotReallyHere' who support their team but can actually string a sentence and formulate an argument.

It is Football fans, not Citeh fans - still funny though!

What pisses me off about fans at clubs like BM and Chelsea is that they think that if you just buy a load of expensive toys you will have more fun. Not so.

Spurs have shown that team building and team spirit over the years gives you something that money can't buy. This arguably started in the Jol days, was under threat during the Ramos era (hence the player rebellion) and has been revitalised by and capitalised on by Redknapp.

The way Spurs are performing at the moment should be a big message to those sides who think that throwing money at a problem, including routine managerial sackings, doesn't get you that basic element of sport which is good team spirit and a desire to work together for the good of the win, not the wage.

In my opinion, there are very few teams in the world right now who can best us on our levels of team spirit and camaraderie.

You make a very good point here.

As I have said before Bluemoon is really not a fair reflection on City fans as coupled with the usual sane and insane posters which normally populate any football forum they are plagued by a young generation of "fans" who have tried to jump on the glory bandwagon, who are usually responsible for the worst posts on the forum.

Which is, funnily enough, what we had to do to accomodate VDV...and our early season form is IMHO the main difference (in terms of league position) between ourselves and the ArseScum.

Always a pleasure, IMRH :)omg: sounds Biblical).
