Haye looked awful all fight.

It's because doctors told him he couldn't fight anymore....4 years ago! Not sure why anyone is surprised.

This joke of a fight was all about what Haye had left, answer was not much, and even then he was leading until his pre fight injury became really serious around round 6

Embarrassing night for British boxing, from start to finish. An old, injured ( before the fight started, it got worse halfway through ) Haye fighting one of the worst strap holders in cruiserweight history, being hyped as much as this and ultimately shown on ppv? Pathetic.

Honestly, Daniel Dubouis, a 0 fight novice pro would knock both out.

Sky, your pundits and match room should all hang their heads in shame. Like showing a league one game and insisting it's champions league standard.

Yup, pretty much

Love in post fight was embarrassing. The pre match trash talk is getting on par with WWE. It seems to be a British thing, you don't see the top American/South Americans feeling the need to fake hype the match. When they do have bad blood it seems to be more genuine, not this concocted nonsense to sell a second rate fight.

I'm very pleased for Bellew, I've never watched any of his fights but I wanted to him win because of those disgraceful comments by Haye about putting him in the hospital. The injury made it a lot less of an even fight but before the injury Bellew was fighting a good gameplan and matching Haye and frustrating him. Haye showed great heart but I have no sympathy for him really. Bellew was a class act afterwards.

I know Klitschko was/is an incredibly successful boxer, but imo heavyweight boxing died the moment Lennox Lewis retired.

It's been total shit ever since.

I don't know about anyone else but i actually found it quite uncomfortable viewing after the injury...a bit like slow torture being played out in front of you.

It was pretty embarrassing all round, Haye for looking like a 36 year old slogger for 5 rounds and Bellew for not being able to to put a man on one leg to bed. Sure a lot of people made a lot of money out of it but no real glory in it either way...

I disagree, all the glory is for Bellew it was a huge upset and I think he was correct to be cautious, this was is first match at heavyweight and Haye still had two good hands. I'd give Bellew a very good chance against Wilder.

It's true, you have to remember that Bellew took the fight all but knowing he was going to be ktfo - after the fight he kept going on about securing his kid's future, that's what it was about for him. No matter how slow he was, even when he was carrying the injury, Haye could still have sparked him out with one swing, so you can hardly blame him for not having a plan to end the fight in this situation.

Started with a good plan, did his homework, kept his focus when he needed to. Whichever way you bake it, Bellew deserves congratulations.

It's a Pay to View thing. Blame Sky Sports. At least in 'the old days' you knew that Nigel Benn despised Chris Eubank and would always despise him.

I still need to watch this. What were Hayes pre match comments?

A professional boxer I went to school with (billy long folllow him he's a yid!) was singing Hayes praises for carrying on.

Big Boxing fights are funny. They remind me of Wimbledon when suddenly everyone's an expert!

Not a chance wilder would easily overwhelm him

He really couldn't, after the injury Haye couldn't get any power into his shots, Bellew had taken everything Haye had up until that point...Haye even caught Bellew with a couple after the injury but didn't have the mobility or power to follow them up.
Im struggling to see what Bellew is getting so much praise for...Haye was ahead on points before the injury and after the injury there could only be one winner.

Im a bit pissed off that it ended how it did, as the later rounds could've been very interesting with an aging Haye vs a slightly chubby but younger Bellew.

Maybe boxing would be taken more seriously by more people if it didn't serve up trash like last night, and behave like the whole thing is a freak show street-fight rather than a sport.

Watched it late last night and at the moment the injury happened it freezes. What actually happened, did he stumble back or something? He didn't look very convincing before in all honesty.

Easily? Not on the evidence of his last fight he was dreadful and got lucky.
It was a poor stoppage yes but it would be a non contest, I'd say the likelihood of the fight would be nil but with boxing today wilder would probably take an easy night.
