So... Whyte v Joshua

What we thinking? I'm not talking about the result, I'm talking about what Joshua will grab the mic and wax about when he gets up off the canvas.

Fury fighting Ngannou is taking the piss out of heavyweight boxing. He should be stripped of his belts. He can then harp on to his hearts content about being ‘lineal’ champion while everyone else who’s serious about boxing can get on with it.

Even though I probably shouldn’t, I’m still intrigued to watch this one.

Ngannou’s power vs Fury’s agility. Sounds interesting on paper, although it will probably be shite just like Mayweather/McGregor.

The Mayweather/McGregor was slightly interesting as Mayweather had retired after a long career (although officially I think this counted as his last fight) and to be fair to McGregor he caught him with one uppercut early on, but I think that acted as a wake up call and the fight as a contest was over from that point.

This is a reigning heavyweight champion taking an exhibition fight. The belt isn’t on the line to my knowledge. Fury is actively avoiding a unifying fight and other legitimate contenders.

This is when I wish that boxing would have a huge reform and that it became more like UFC, where the best fighters have to fight each other and most cards have interesting undercards.

I know why it won’t happen, as there’s too many boards and interested parties who would want their piece of the pie. The only hope for this to happen would be a massive attempt at Saudi sports washing who may be able to keep every party satisfied, but then there’s the obvious moral implications of this.

Anyone paying for this fight is part of the problem.

Boxing is much more skilled than people give it credit for. If he fights properly, Ngannou has zero chance.

We had that crappy analysis for the Mayweather vs McGregor farce.

No one should be analysing either as anything but a farce.

Cancelled after Whyte failed a drug test.

I was interested in this fight as it was a chance to see if Joshua is really done or if he has a couple more fights in him.

Absolutely gutted as I had tickets for this, would’ve been my first live boxing match. Good seats too… fuming.
Isn’t this the third time Whyte has been done? Should be a lifetime ban. I’ve said my thoughts previously on performance enhancing drugs in combat sports should be automatic lifetime bans due to the dangers involved of gaining an unfair advantage.

But, and please don't think worse of me for this, if someone proposed a "fuck it, juice yourself into the density of a black hole" fighting competition, with Ivan Drago's and Crank'd Jason Statham's running around clobbering each other, full to the eyeballs with chemicals...

...100% I'd watch that.

Sure, it'd become more a contest of who's body could hold the most insane cocktail of drugs, but... hell, if they want to, why not? Sod it. Thunderdome.

There isn’t an unfair advantage if they’re all doing it.

Really wanted everyone to ignore it. People paying attention to these farces leads to Fury taking a big money fight against a UFC fighter over a top challenger.

Im not arsed about boxing tbh but yeah, I get why boxing fans don’t like it.

Much prefer One Championship.

A lot of people aren't arsed about boxing anymore because top fights between fighters in their primes rarely happen.

The huge money really killed the sporting element of the sport.

Yeah that happened a long time ago.
