Breel Embolo Moves To Schalke

That Twitter analyst Michael Caley that does all the xG charts thinks that Batman is the better prospect. Supposedly his underlying stats are even better than Lacazette's.

I'd be happy with any of Batman, Embolo or Janssen. All fit the quota of promising young striker that can grow into something special.

I think he's the closest to offering that kind of blend of robust, fulcrum role that Kane offers. He's got decent technique, can also play in wide forward areas, works ferociously hard without the ball so is ideal in our system, and is only 19, yet has already played CL & Europa football, so has bags of potential.

I think Batshuayi's a very decent no.9, but I remain less convinced about his all round game and really doesn't play anywhere else, so I just struggle to see the logic in paying 25/30m (rumour) for a player who I think could potentially only start a handful of games, unless we switch to a different shape?

Embolo probably would cost a similar fee to Batshuayi.

I reckon he'd be a bit cheaper, but even if similar price, Embolo could still be more useful as he can cover that fulcrum role that Kane does, but also definitely play in other positions. Batshuayi is only ever going to play CF and unless Kane get a long term injury how often will that be do you think ?

Can't be arsed to go back through the thread. Never seen much of Embolo or Batshuayi live, but someone said they'd rather MB for now and Embolo for the future, but looking at their vids I think Embolo looks better than MB now. Maybe doesn't have the ability to get out of spaces like MB and his dribbling doesn't seem very tight, but he looks rapid, strong, can finish and links up well.

So my question is if people had a choice of who they'd like to lead a line next year out of the two who would it be?

Who'd lead the line better.. Embolo.. who's a better finisher at the moment Batshuayi.. I'd still have Embolo ahead of him.. I've seen Varane & Ramos not been able to handle him.. I haven't seen Bats do that against defenders of that calibre

I'd love it, I'd forgo a new WF (a position we have been looking to strengthen) to pick up Embolo and Batshuayi, as the former can do a very similar role to Chadli and Son IMO, and we already have good options with Alli, Eriksen and Lamela.

I think it's very unlikely, impossible even if going by past windows, although it would really give us a squad capable of competing on all fronts.

I've been watching a few videos of this kid, he's raw (expected at 19) but has it all. Sky is the limit for him if coached well. The player I want the most out of those linked so far.

Great player who would fit like a glove. Comparable to Lacazette IMO but not sure we have too much chance of getting him unfortunately.
