Not sure Juventus need another striker TBH. I'd love this to happen, I don't think it will though.

Juventus & Tottenham step up Embolo chase

The Italian champions will watch the 18-year-old Switzerland international again on Thursday as they weigh up a bid for a player who is also wanted at White Hart Lane

Juventus are hoping to steal a march on Tottenham in the race to sign Basel starlet Breel Embolo.

The 18-year-old striker, who was born in Cameroon, is considered one of Europe's most exciting young talents, having already been capped at senior level by Switzerland.

Tottenham have been speaking with both Basel and Embolo's representatives since the summer, while Juve sent a scout to watch him in action for Basel in their Europa League meeting with Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on September 17.

Indeed, the Italian champions are willing to make another huge investment in the club's long-term future should their scouting missions continue to yield positive reports.

They could yet be drawn into an auction, though, as Tottenham view Embolo as a very real alternative to primary transfer target Saido Berahino, whom they were unable to prise away from West Bromwich Albion during the summer.

Inter-changeable with Kane and with bags of raw talent. Makes a lot of sense if we can get him.

In theory he should get on well with all members of the squad he we get him especially his fellow country man by birth N'jie.

With Kane likely to play so many games and be the established no.1

It will be hard to keep another young aspiring talent happy

Can he play in one of the wide forward positions too? I think a striker signing may need to have that sort of versatility in order to give them adequate game time (rather than just rotating him with Kane in the Europa and giving him the odd sub appearance)

Apparently he can play off the right too. Looks very much like centre forward though.

Cover for Kane, Kane to drop back some games, others 2 up top, some on the right covering Lamela/Son.

I'm all in.

As well as being a big and very robust lad, he's also very mobile, he's got good technique and a decent footballing brain and best of all, he also works hard off the ball and presses and tackles. He would be ideal in our system and is so much more viable than Betahino.

I wouldn't even want Betahino on a free. He's just not right for our system at all.

surely we could bring in Embolo without having to sell first...

We could, but you know we won't and Levy wouldn't.

I wouldn't call it selling first to get him either. I would look at it for what it is - trimming the squad even more before we buy again.
