Really intrigued as to how all this pans out. Even though the style will be so different, we were still getting caught out with the ball over the top almost every time in pre season. We’ll have more pace now so that will help but I have a feeling we’ll be involved in a quite a few high scoring games.

Can’t wait to see Maddison link up with our strikers. Could go either way today so I’m going for a hard fought 14-0 win for us. 🙏

Can't believe you got a disagree for that LOL

Here in the states on the peacock broadcast, their "insider" said that he doesn't expect any big signings from here with the Kane money and that they have already spent a lot of money this summer. He included Kulu as part of it. Sounds like Levy talked to him directly. PR spin as always.

Even the bench albeit not great personel wise has a very nice balance to it

Thomas Frank talking sense there. Seems a good bloke.
Yes, always speaks well. He was high on my list for potential new manager but it seems not with many others ( a bit of we are too big bias I think) . Having said that I am equally impressed and happy with Ange and really hope he is given the time to try and make this work.

Bloody hell they ask some inane questions don’t they.

“Are you looking forward to your first premier league game.”

What the fuck do they think he’s gonna answer that?

“Nah mate I wish I was still at Celtic.”

Daniel Sturridge 👏🏻 Roy Keane 😡. Can tell who has done some proper research and knows who the players even are and who just turns up and forms a view on the hop without any basis.

As Arsenal showed last year, a strong start to the season builds confidence for a squad in transition.

I know many are focused on past defensive frailties, but that backline is entirely transformed from last season. The bigger concern with the current squad is whether the poor finishing we've seen the last 12 months from Son, Richarlison and Kulusevki was an aberration or a lingering long-term issue. Those three need to be clinical in the box when given chances to score to make up for Kane's departure. Maddison will score goals, as will Bentacur when he gets back, but the front three will each need to hit double figures to see this team improve on last season's results.

If Richarlison and Son find goal-scoring form early in the season, there's no reason this team can't finish in the top 4 with no European football to focus on. If they struggle with end product, there's going to have be a deliberation as to whether to make a move for an experienced striker in the market at the end of the month or in January (even presuming Orban will join the club at some point this month, too)

Yeah, just listened to that guy. He loves the sound of his own voice. The media will spin this negatively for the rest of time. They can’t leave it out.

Yeah I think we’ll control the game but get picked off on the break.
Wouldn’t be the greatest surprise. But it is exciting just not really knowing, e.g. we will be super passive for the first half and hope they don’t score….

I listen to these pundits and presenters that they pay so much and wonder would a single person not watch if they weren't there?

It's just crap filler.

I loved the stats.

“Wissa was Brentford’s 2nd top scorer last season, only Toney scored more.”

That’s kind of how finishing 2nd works.

COYS!

No idea what to expect but it feels good to have an excitement over the team. Time to play football again.
