I'm really pleased he's said he's happy at Madrid and wants to stay there - seeing him in a United or Chelsea shirt would be heartbreaking and sickening. I hope he ends his career there.

He may not be quite the force he was when he left us and a couple of seasons ago, but were he to come back to the PL he'd still rip it up - the greater physical side of the game here was always something he could exploit as so many more players in the PL rely on their pace and strength to make up for their lack of technical ability - and no-one could match him in those areas. It's a little more difficult for him in Spain as there's generally less room to operate in and space to exploit, and players tend to be more tactically aware and disciplined. There's no denying he's still been a success, though.

A lot of Real players aren't allowed to talk about previous clubs or others in general, let's not have a pop at him for that. He loved his time at Spurs.

He's not coming back, he's not going to leave a team that wins the league and two champions leagues on the spin to come back to us, and go from 300k a week to 100k a week either.

I think he'll be there another year or two, then I think he'll either go to Bayern Munich or either United/Chelsea

Even at 4-1 yesterday, Ronaldo was still giving him an earful for not playing him though, either Ronaldo just wants a key pass or he just doesn't like him!

He's all about the personal records and I don't believe a CLF hat-trick has ever been scored.

Ronaldo was right
Bale shot from way out and hit the defender in front of him
when he had at least two options on including Ronaldo.
He has done well at Real though
and but for recurring worrying injuries
would be well placed to take on the Ronaldo mantle.
But not quite yet.
He ain't going nowhere for a anther couple of seasons if then.

You could forgive the guy for having a crack. He's playing for the biggest club in the world in a CL final in his home town and has only come on in the 77th minute...

Has he shown us any love since he left? I have seen occasional tweets from Soldado and Van Der Vaart, but nothing from Bale.

I know where you're coming from but did he tweet or instagram (or whatever social medium he uses) about Southampton when he was with us ? Honest question, I don't recall him saying too much publicly about Southampton particularly after a few years...

Waddle, gaza, greaves, hoddle? Are they all dead to you too? Or do you remember the good times?

Also on this. Those guys are Spurs legends and are still around the club (health willing in Gazza and Greaves case). They're part of the fabric of our club. As good a player as Bale was, I personally don't see the same from him in 20 or 30 years. I can't picture him being around the club on match days like some of the old guys are.

If we could get Bale we can get Lemar, Lacazette, Costa etc.. All things considered, I don't think Bale would be first on my list.

£350k after tax at the best team in the world who have won 3 CLs in 4 years, or £120k before tax with us. Difficult choice for the lad.
