New season starts tonight, Dortmund vs Hamburg, unfortunately ESPN aren't showing it live, delayed coverage instead at 10.30pm. Live games on Sunday though.

Expecting Mario Götze to have a great season.

Have to agree with that.

Will be a good game. It's ashame that ESPN are showing rugby instead.

I'm looking forward to see how Dortmund play without Sahin and how Gundogan fits in there. Also worth noting that Barrios is out for atleast 6 weeks so Lewandowski will most likely start upfront.

HSV are massively changed so will be kind of unpredictable.

Why do people think the Bundesliga is the best league in Europe?

Why do people think the Bundesliga is the best league in Europe?

Because it is by far the most exciting league, great open attacking football. And you simply can't predict it.

While not me agreeing its the best league in Europe, here are some of the reasons why some think it is.

More then two or three teams can win the title. It some of the speed and pace of the English league, the technical ability of the Spanish league and tactics of the Italian league. It has support on par with English clubs. The teams are financially stable. Tickets are cheap.

Well, thats what I've got. I'm sure there are more.

Cheers. It sounds like most German teams play similarly to the German national team. I will try and catch a few games.

Those Germans get everything right.

Best league to watch along with the PL imo, for the reasons cwy21 listed. The fan atmosphere is also tremendous, especially at places like Westfalen.

Wow, thanks for the thread as I never realised it was starting tonight. Good game to kick things off too. I'm interested to see how Dortmund get on now and also should be good to see if Scouting thread fave Perisic can make his mark. Can't wait now!!

Good thing the opening game is shown on german free tv tonight, means i can watch it in here in Switzerland aswell

And agree with most of the comments on why its the best / most exciting league right now. Especially the fans. I mean till last season Dortmund didnt play for 7 years internationally but still managed to have season attendances on par with ManU and Barcelona.

Saw most of the pre-season games and Gündogan looks the shit. It will be a long way till he replaces Sahin but he was already on a good way, worked already well with the other players.

Looked great in the pre-seasons, but still lacks some weeks fitness wise. When he played the whole game you saw that he struggled till the end. Also there were comments from Jürgen Klopp that he still needs time to adjust to the german tempo and the training and game intensity but hes on a good way. Managed a couple goals and assists in the pre-seasons.

Guess Grosskreutz will start tonight with Perisic coming on after 60th minute or so.

Yea I saw a header he scored in pre-season, will prob be a couple months before he's fully adjusted to the tempo and style there. I hope Dortmund can have a good CL campaign too.

I really need to watch more Bundesliga this season. Got to a point where I rarely watched anything outside Premier League and Champions League last year.

This, it's also more enjoyable than the premiership for me because I can just watch the games rather than worrying about how every result affects Spurs.

Wow. They just tore apart Hamburg.

Can't wait to see what they can do in the Champions League.
