Some people really do only live in the here and know don't they. Let's wait and see, when his career is over we can compare.

Those mouthing off he's better than this great player or that great player are just fucking idiots, you can't predict the future, you've no idea what is going to happen in Ronaldos career, so belt up eh?

How about a considered, informed and sensible fucking opinion eh?
what you consider a "considered, informed and sensible fucking opinion" might not actually be what other people agree with - that's what a forum's all about, dude

In my opinion, you've decided that this thread is focussing too much on what Ronaldo might become, of which none of us can accurately predict but it's nice to guess. The guy could slip getting off the coach, bang his head and be dead by midnight but in the same breath could play for another 15 years and become the most accomplished, skillful and technically outstanding player ever to grace the game - which would of course be an arguable opinion and i don't doubt people will debate it then as well.

Chill out a bit - express your opinion, challenge others and things are dandy. Don't start shouting "shut up" at people, it destroys the point of a forum.

I think a considered, informed and sensible *fucking* opinion is that he's easily the best player in the world right now, and if he remains in this form in large spells for the remainder of his career he will be one of the best players ever, if not the very best.

Now that I can agree with.

Perfectly chilled, and telling people their idiots for a particular opinion is something that happens on this forum all the time. Or are certain people only allowed to do that? At least I've gone to the effort of actually writing something, which beats the efforts of some on here who simply mock or insult others via a smiley etc. As for the belt up comment that wasn't to be taken literally merely a throw away.

Cast your mind back to the summer of 2006.

The press were trying to hound him out the country.
Much of the public wanted him killed.

Our country really lets itself down at times. Pathetic.

I tried having this same conversation today with an Arsenal fan (my boss) who has decided that Fabregas is currently the world's best player and told me I was 'talking shit' about Ronaldo being anywhere close to Fabregas' 'influence' on a game. Jesus would have backed me up as well but he was weeping in the room next door.

What a fucking idiot. I order you to hit your boss in the face with a heavy object.

Fabregas is an overrated little prick. He's gone quiet since December and doesn't have half of Ronaldo's ability.

So was I. I hated the **** back then. Funny how things can change so much so quickly.

He was a scapegoat

Funny how Rooney got away scot free for doing what was essentially the same thing Backham did.

I never blamed Ronaldo.

I'm the same - hated him before the world cup shenanigans too, what with the diving, the whining, the pussying about.

Now you can see the maturity he's developed and, though i hate to say this as well, i think SAF and his coaching staff can take a lot of credit for that. It's as if he's taken a leaf from Rooney's book and started to play to the whistle more.

Still has a face that only a speeding bus could love, but that's my opinion :|
