They've already done it before.
I seem to recall posting about three times yesterday that this story was a case of journalistic spin and excess. These things achieve critical mass too quickly nowadays and people post things like 'this seems to be getting momentum', when all that is really happening is that one cheapo journalist is paraphrasing another cheapo journalist's spin - the same story propagating itself to create the illusion of activity.
So what if Cain Hoy might be interested in putting in a cash offer for the club? I expect that goes for quite a few investors. And ENIC are talking to a lot of investors at present, so there are going to be a lot of people with a lot of money scrutinising THFC's and ENIC's accounts and business plans. Some of them are going to consider buying the whole package - as an option.
It's not a big deal unless ENIC are more interested in selling than they are in adding value and there is no inidication at present that they have any such inclinations. There is plenty of evidence of the opposite: ENIC's own statements and their past record of adding maximum value before disposing of their interest.
If we all go off the deep end on 2-3 frantic threads every time one of these capitalists takes a fancy to THFC, we won't have any space to discuss anything else.
As I keep saying, there is scarcely any story here, just a load of spin, followed by panic in various guises. It might be that there will be a story here, if Cain Hoy start to offer what I already described as 'silly money', but I doubt they would do that. Capitalists do not get rich by offering more than market value for an asset.
Lovely guy, but, ummm.... you know he's a Scum fan, right?Magic is just a figurehead and doesn't really run the Dodgers. He's just an extremely popular guy in LA and it builds goodwill to have him front and center to represent the ownership group. I guess the equivalent in England is if they brought Mo Farah (is he as universally popular as I imagine he is?) into the group to be the public face, not someone just popular with Spurs fans but with sporting fans across the board.

To be fair, they didn't say that at all, although I suspect they will make a bid.Cain Hoy have announced that they are making a bid for Spurs. Not interested in making a bid, not considering a bid....they announced it in accordance with UK law they are going to make a bid.

I'm pretty sure there's some rule which means they have to announce if they are interested...They effectively did say it though....they had to announce their intention of making a bid in accordance with the Takeover and Mergers code. They now have until October 10 to make the formal offer. They wouldn't have made the announcement if they weren't going to make an offer. It is the reason that Spurs made their statement yesterday.
Now it could end up being nothing, but it shows that Cain Hoy are very serious about an offer.

So he didn't earn the right to be given more time? I'm sitting at home watching the Getafe game and I know and everyone watching knows that he's lost his job and he has to find out from a text his nephew sent him.
He deserved that?
I don't really know the truth about his sacking, but you would always hope it could be conducted with some dignity.
I would think the few million quid he received from spurs possibly softened the blow though.
Personally, I don't think he deserved more time, he'd had 3 and a half years and he was clearly not addressing deficiencies - and judging by his comments he didn't even know what they were. For me he was like a boring version of Redknapp, with no discernible ethos, method or style of play and we were frequently insipid and dire to watch.
Haven't seen a better atmosphere at the lane since those days though. The giant was definitely awakening.
For me, the biggest loss was Arnesen. He started the revolution and Chelsea knew he was important. They basically only took him just to fuck us up.
That would buy 1831.03 Garreth Bales!Silverman is apparently involved with Apollo Global Management, who have $159.3billion in assets on their own...
We're going round and round with ENIC.
Decent job but time to hand over to bigger boys.
