sorry. don't know much about the game any more so I took an article at word. thanks for clarification. you do seem to know a bit, so do you think that the Guggs have invested in their farm system in a way that should make us hopeful or horrified?

Cheers.

Dodgers already had a very good infrastructure for their farm system and Spring Training facilities, so Guggs hasn't needed to throw big money at it.

Has anyone else seen his blog?!

It's unbelievable. And no way is this pure fabrication.

Got a feeling this will break very soon

Have you read the judgement against him that was linked earlier in this thread? It pretty much shreds any claim to credibility he may have.

I don't understand why people are questioning why we are prime for investment.

We are a massive club with a huge fan base.

We've seen glimpses of what we could become in recent years (10/11 season)

We are located in the worlds best city.

It isnt rocket science.

We could become Europes next dominant club.

We have an amazing history and even bigger potential.

It's a shame that the previous two owners haven't realised this.

Mate I think you're struggling with basic economic concepts, there's no point in me repeating myself.

I am proud to say that I am also struggling with basic economic concepts. This is no attack on you Pinkie (who I've always mostly agreed with - apart from the fact that I pay taxi fares with cash) but I couldn't give two fucks about economic concepts.
I find it very, very sad and disheartening that so many people in SC actually understand this shit. Young people today go to college, not to study science, or engineering, or arts - but economic concepts.
The world economy is brought down, countries go bankrupt, people starve - because business types in dark rooms buy and sell what? Economic concepts.
At the end of every news programme, there are minutes and minutes of Stock Exchange shit, about share prices, currency exchange rates, and so on.
Why are there never ant regularly programmed sections on the environment, health, welfare, poverty, hunger?

And so, this whole section of the SC Forum is about ..... 'Economic concepts' ... How will they make a return on their investment, will short-term opportunism give way to long-term thinking, will .....

Are there any other Spurs supporters out there who are just ordinary people? Or are there only capitalists (by which I mean capitalists only, before anyone jumps down my throat).

I hear you. They won't spend like Man City or Chelsea so people should just forget about that.
Do we need to spend like that, at the moment I want us to spend like Everton:D

I think they actually have the ability to increase our brand size and revenue from overseas which is just as important if not more important than the new stadium

All of my degrees are in literature but then I moved to New York and finance is how you make a living in New York when you discover you have no actual talent for art. It's interesting enough if not my childhood dream job. I think I'm pretty ordinary, though. I like dinosaurs and a good wank, just like everyone else...

Again you can't really invest in a farm system, other then getting better coaches to help develop talent. I can't really comment on that end of it because I really don't know the farm system of the dodgers all to well. But they have has a fair amount of really good players cone through it recently like their star pitcher Clayton Kershaw, Matt Kemp was another player to come through.

However it's not like football where there are clubs that are constantly churning out youth players, and the reason is because players rights have to go through the draft system. Youth players aren't free agents, even if they don't play for a team their rights could be held by them. So for example the quarterback for Seattle Russell Wilson had his baseball rights held by the Texas Rangers I want to say, meaning he could only sign with Texas if he ever wanted to play baseball. So clubs like ajax who have are a youth prospect powerhouse don't really exist due to how the players rights are handled. A really good youth prospect doesn't really have the luxury of being able to chose a club just like clubs can't really choose any player they want, it has to go through the draft.

So you kinds have to get lucky but also have good coaches to help the prospects you do have.

I went studied music for 4 years after leaving school and and value art above money... but this is a thread about an investment group taking over our club. I'm not sure what else you'd expect

Then you will know that the allegations are true and that this Judgment is both discredited (as the Judge upon whose Judgment this subsequent Judgment was handed down, in my absence, was revealed to have extensive links to the Conspirators..which is why I refused to attend) and superseded (as approx. 20x the evidence then available is now available after years of investigations). Enough said...apart from Alan Bloom's Brother Peter Bloom is now known to have have set-up a Company with the funder / person in control of The Richland Group within just hours of this bullshit Libel Hearing, a Company through which £375K was passed.

I'm sure you will appreciate that I'm bound by client confidentiality and I'm not at liberty to discuss details of this matter.

I was merely pointing out my interest in the reference.

Thanks

Well the Guggenheim's have been linked. Maybe the Metropolitan Museum will come in with a bid for our valuable antique - Brad Friedel. Or maybe the MoMA will take a shine to Andros...after all he dribbles almost as badly as Jackson Pollock. Also a shame we no longer have Modric...so two-faced he's make the biggest Picasso admirer blush.

Then again, the Royal Academy will be interested in buying Arsenal. They sure have a lot of Constables.

everton on average dont spend much, and over both the last 5 (they mad a net profit) and 10 they have spent less net than we have
I was taking the piss but over the last 5 seasons they have a higher net spend then us.

Also net spend over the 5 last years is pretty useless as teams worked on a tight budget and the new tv money allowed all the clubs to have a negative net spend without hurting their clubs finances.

Since the tv money came we have spent less than anyone else

This thread is about the Cain Hoy takeover. Can people please stop taking it off topic into potentially libellous territory. Last time this gets asked.
