It has to be premeditated surely, it seems a bit random stabbing someone in both legs, the person who did it must have known he was a footballer

I cannot even begin to believe that you posted this.

Is this what has become acceptable now? quote: "even if you stab someone"

What is going on in this shitty country?

My thoughts exactly, discusting post.

If he was stabbed in the legs I would think it wasn't a burgalry but an increadably vicious and sick attack against his career.

I suspect ignorance rather than malice.

if you believe that Dan I think you should walk round hackney at night with an ipod or something expensive

Its terrible to think you are not safe in your own home, we really need to overhaul the policing system to deal with people who commit crimes like this

I think he just meant that it was a particularly horrific attack.

People like this should be sent to the nick for life as in my eyes its attempted murder. You dont carry a weapon around and use it if you dont intend to viciously harm or kill somebody.

I hope this sick incident does not ruin his career and I hope Callum and his mother a speedy recovery.

Shocking stuff, all the more so that it happened in the fella's own home.

Hope they both have a speedy recovery.

Calm down mate, talk about taking issue with something for no reason.

it was obviously a joke.

also if this country is shitty, why not just move somewhere else? instead of whinging about it, plenty of people DO want to be here.

The present day is the least violent time in the history of mankind. It's just 24 media reports it much more.

what planet or parrallel is that please.. i like the mankind there!!!!!!.
nasty news people!!:bang:

fighting & violence was part & parcel of my youth... the difference being if i or my mates got a kicking we didn't come back with blades or shooters..

theres kids killing kids now for "dissing" each other & you say the present day is less violentEek

Get lost with the 'rup moment' comment, you can tag me all you want but there is no need to link me with your sicko post. There is a lot wrong with this country and that previous comment from you makes it apparent.

As for Davenport and his mother, I feel gutted that he has had to confront some nutcase with no moral use within society.

Calum Davenport is understood to have received multiple stab wounds in the attack which could have killed him last night.

According to a source, the Hammers defender is thought to have sustained a series of injuries - to both legs, his groin and his neck - during the frenzied attack which is said to have taken place at his home in Bedford last night.

The former England under-21 is understood to have intervened in a row between a family member and a close acquaintance during a evening out in Bedford last night. It is said that the row esculated at the family home which ended up with both Davenport and his mother receiving numerous knife wounds.

The 26-year-old centre half - who has only recently recovered from a broken neck sustained whilst playing for Watford (on loan) last season - was initially placed on the critical list but is thought to be responding well to treatment, despite being told that he is lucky to be alive.

As mentioned in our earlier report, a 19-year-old man is helping police with enquiries.
