Milos was also listed amongst the 5 most outstanding players of the tournament:

Milos Veljkovic

A rock at the back, Veljkovic helped ‘keeper Rajkovic throughout the whole tournament although this game was one he starred in. A vast number of set pieces didn’t trouble Serbia too much because of the defender, who was able to head the ball away easily and proactively. Also efficient when playing out of the back, his team had no need to be afraid of anything with him guarding the goal along with Rajkovic

CCV one of 5 defenders named to the USA U23 Olympic qualifying team.

The qualifying tournament runs from October 1 - October 13.

http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/201...u23mnt-mens-olympic-qualifying-roster-release

  • Six players from this roster were a part of the U.S. U-20 World Cup squad that advanced to the quarterfinals in New Zealand: Cameron Carter-Vickers, Emerson Hyndman, Matt Miazga, Zack Steffen, Maki Tall and Gedion Zelalem.

  • At just 17-years-old, Carter-Vickers is the youngest player on the roster.

The XI: Steffen, Polster, Miazga, CCV, Serna, Alashe, Trapp, Zelalem, Hyndman, Kieswetter, Morris

So our u20 WC CB partnership is our starting olympic qualifying CB partnership with the same keeper too so communication between them 3 shouldnt be an issue.

Some full national team experience in the side too with Hyndman and Morris. Morris is the non professional college kid thats fast as fuck and played with CCV in the u23 friendly vs Brazil last year.

Seen bits and bobs but so far CCV has arguably stopped Canada's 2 best chances, did a good clearance for a cross before making a block seconds later from a canada player who received it from from another cross after the clearance.

Then a long ball over the top and he was touch tight with the striker who won the header(not that he knew anything about it) taking it past the keeper(who came out bit too early) before CCV recovered and made a good last ditch tackle/block to stop him getting a free shot at the open goal and let the ball go out of play for the corner

Saw a lot of Milos and CCV in NZ this year u 20 World Cup.

Both very good.

Just cannot understand what we doing with Milos. Would love a statement from the Club.

No disrespect here but this topic - i.e. Millos - has been discussed in length in other threads so please let's not hijack this thread too with the lengthy Milos debate

They should both be here long term. Milos wont because of the clubs absurdly antiquated policies.

We've never had an issue with giving players new contracts if they deserve it so not sure what that is saying about Milos
