So, last night Leeds gave Liverpool a tough game and had chances to win, but ended up letting the scousers leave with 1-0 win.

Arsenal beat ten man West Brom 2-0. Barnsley knocked out Burnley, who won't be repeating their cup run of last season after losing 3-2.

Bolton knocked out Wet Spam in extra time. Portsmouth found their level at Carlisle and actually won a game. Forest lost narrowly to Blackburn.

Newcastle lost to Peterborough, S****horpe beat Port Vale in extra time, Sunderland comfortably beat Birmingham and Stoke came from behind to beat Blackpool 4-3!

Which leaves tonights games, including ours:

Aston Villa v Cardiff
Chelsea v QPR
Hull v Everton
Man City v Fulham
Man Utd v Wolverhampton
Preston v Tottenham

Couple of good ties there. Cardiff is a tough game if Villa field a weak side. I think City will want to win this trophy so expect them to win, QPR will be well up for Chelsea but can't see them beating them.

So that's 13 top flight sides out of 16. Who said the Carling Cup was worthless? I reckon with the league so uncompetitive everyone fancies their chances here. Certainly there aren't many who field dramatically weakened sides anymore.
