We've got Tripps and KWP and Dier can play RB at a pinch. Lose a talisman like Kane or Alli or one of the CBs, I'd be worried. I hope he doesn't go - if he does - to a prem rival, but even if he does, I won't lose much sleep over it. Walker is more than capable enough of sufficient brainfarts to ensure his new club still finish comfortably below us.

Lads if you haven't seen a few match of cedric soares you wouldn't d appreciate how good he is. The lad can pass, defensively is very astute and can read a game. I would have him over anyone at rb who is currently in prem bar Walker. Perriera is more a varied and attacking player soares is a lot better defensively

I'd prefer Pereira, not least because he can play on the left as well.
Toljan can play on the left as well. As a matter of fact I believe he played LB against England U21 in the spring friendly.

I'd hope we're now firmly linked with this guy. He would be such a good fit and would hit the ground running with all his previous experience in the EPL and having already played with half our first team. He's got real quality too. I saw him live a number of times last season as my partners family are all Saints fans and regularly attend games, he always stood out for me.

I agree.

Spurs have been burnt in the transfer market lately by buying unproven young foreign prospect. N'Jie and Nkoudou haven't worked out and Ricardo Pereira is the same risk.

With Cedric, you know what you are going to get. I think he would be a fine replacement for Walker. Him and Trippier is a good duo to rotate.

So nothing then...

In theory perhaps but currently in reality...no. This situation reminds me of a cartoon I saw many years ago. It was two vultures sitting on a tree branch and one says to the other "Oh f**k this waiting...I'm going to kill something!"
I really am getting tired now of scouring media reports and websites every morning hoping to see some kind of real transfer news. Maybe tomorrow.......(y)

My comment had nothing to do with your post btw @Krule. It's just that website is straight click bait at its finest. Their "algorithm" is nothing more than a conglomerator of publications like the Sun, Mail, Bleacher Report and all the other tabloids. Take everything they say with a pinch of salt. The only rumor I have seen them accurately predict was Neymar and well, anyone could get ad revenue off that story.

They are also huge contributors to the site costs of SC .....(y) (just saying)

Waiting to see DL get fisted by Southampton over this one - should be interesting. Last minute buys don't come cheap anymore.

Don't know what it's worth but the odds on him joining increased by quite a lot today. Not sure what's caused that as I haven't seen any recurrence in rumours.

I research a lot of this stuff and I couldn't find an answer. Reasons odds drop:
1. Reaction to betting patterns. Could be not a lot of bets on him so dropping odds due to small pool meaning any bet causes a large swing or a hope to inspire more bets from the bookies. (Most likely one of these two)
2. Punters seeing deals for our other right backs fall through and this good value at 9/1 like yesterday.
3. Insider info betting. Keita Balde dropped from 25/1 to 6/5 hours after JJ's tweet was cracked.
