So, who are we going to replace Soldado with? And where can we find a back up who's willing to fight for his spot? I was massively impressed with Demba Ba the other day and it dawned on me that he was experienced in PL football, a typical no 9 and intelligent, which makes him an ideal candidate to play in front of Kane.

We need four forwards though in totol in my opinion.. Jay Rodriguez can play as a wide forward in a 4231 system and I see Kane as a no 10, but who else can we bring in if Soldado ends up going and Ba as no 9 needs cover?

Thoughts anyone?

Bony has to be number one choice for me.

His physicality, movement, way he brings in other players and the amount of goals he scores has to make him a top target.

He's on a good run right now and being Prem proven his price tag will be very high.

With Walker returning and Yedlin on his way I feel Dier and Chiriches will move to the centre so we need to find a buyer for Kaboul.

With Mason and Bentaleb stepping up there's no places for Dembele and possibly one of Paulinho and Capoue.

Ade's contract is coming to an end I believe so there're more money saved there soon.

So we have enough outlets to generate some cash without hurting the first team squad.

Can't see Bony happening. If he does leave, it will be on deadline day and to a big bid from a top. 4 club. City may be in the market for a striker, Aguero crying as he went of injured this evening.

Yeah I like Bony. He could make it and is not too bad in the air, if we ever start getting round the defender and crossing the ball into the box!

At this point, I just want to see a busy **** of the forward variety. Someone who can run all day and make defenders lives hell by never giving them a moments rest and will compete for every ball. Fuck technique/skill/goals, things have got so bad I just want to see someone who will run through brick walls for the team.

I wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic with me on that other thread. I'd like us to buy someone who can handle the rough and tumble of English football, someone who will back into centre halves and not pull out of 50/50 challenges.

Well Bony did just sign a longer contract the other week so that's nothing more than a pipe dream.

Send a letter to Paul Mitchell, with all due respects to SC posters I'm pretty sure he has some more creative suggestions than J Rod or Bony.

I'm pretty sure City are about at their limit with non home grown players. Plus they still have Negredo on their books though he's on loan.

I agree that Bony is the one we should be after. Lacazette also looks interesting though I haven't seen him play much.

i think we lack pace, someone who can run behind and stretch the play. i'm not as high on berahino as others yet but he does intrigue me and kane's already built up a decent understanding with him for england. i like bony a lot and he ticks a lot of boxes too but the one thing i'm not sure you'll get from him is pressing/work rate and as we know that's something poch wants from all of his players.

Still can't believe Swansea got Bony instead of us. I was singing his praises before he'd even come to the Prem. His skills seemed pretty obvious to most people, but apparently not to our glorious transfer committee.

We should've just signed Loic Remy after the Liverpool deal fell through. Would've ticked all the boxes.

Unfortunately, our strikers just aren't that prolific. 5 goals between the 3 of them through 15 league games is an awful return. Sadly, we likely won't spend what's necessary to upgrade our options. That'll have to wait until the summer when we get the Lloris/Vertonghen cash.
