Chairman and owners of English football clubs have been warned they risk being branded "a bunch of racists" if they do not take immediate action to address the fact that there are only two black managers out of all 92 league clubs. (Daily Telegraph)

What do you think? Apart from Ince who is doing a good job with MK Dons are there any ex black players out there that you'd think would make a good manager? And do you think they are given the opportunity?

I'd like to see someone like Ruud Gullitt or John Barnes have a try.

Who gave that warning? It is really stupid. If a black guy is real good, I don't think any British club will deny him the chance or deny themselves of his service just because of the colour of his skin. Just look at the number of black players in emplyment.

I actually think we'll seem more black managers in the next few years, at the moment I just think there are any good black managers available?

As much as I hate him I think Patrick Vieria could become a decent manager

This is ridiculous.

Football has nothing to do with ethnicicity whether it be for managers or players.

Some teams are now have virtually all black players, I think Pompey have regularly had 9 or 10 playing recently, and who cares? Nobody, and quite rightly so. But will they now be branded as racist for not having enough white players?

The whole thing is just stupid and they just create issues where there are none, I'm glad to say that I really believe that colour is irrelevant in British football and this is just nonsense.

I don't mean to be funny here, but how many decent black managers are there out there, out of work and want to work over here?

I hope it doesn't get like the police, with quotas for religions and races - hundreds of trained police, ready to go, but they aren't employed because they don't fit the social profile required of them. That's an abysmal way to run things.

Maybe I should be a chairman and change that? :)

Positive discrimination is still discrimination. If chairman can be called racist for not choosing black managers or coaches, what does that make you (apart from an idiot)?

I think most chairmen know that it's a results business and would employ anyone, black, white, green, canine or a supercomputer AI if it got them results. If they don't know that, then "bunch of incompetent spazwits who can't do their jobs properly" would be more appropriate than "bunch of racists."

love the way racism is only 1 way.

Too true. Have some rep.

Pisses me off in the same way it's considered sexist to not let women do stuff, yet they're allowed their own car insurance because woman are 'better' drivers.

I hate the world.

What do they suggest is done then? Kick out managers who deserve their place and replace them with managers who don't?

It doesn't make sense. There's nothing racist about it. It's all just coicidental that there happens to only be two managers out of 92.

It seems that in today's society you're labelled a racist if you're not being racist at all, yet you're no longer a racist if you start being racist (to white people).

Have you got a link for this? Because I Want to know who is branding them a bunch of racists. Stories like this give certain people an excuse to trivialize racism.
