First matchday tuesday 15.09.09:

Atlètico-APOEL
Besiktas-Manchester United
Chelsea-Porto
Juventus-Bordeaux
Maccabi Haifa-Bayern München
Marseille-AC Milan
Wolfsburg-CSKA Moskva
Zürich-Real Madrid

Champions League kicks off again tonight. I predict Chelsea or Real Madrid to win it. I think after 5 first knockout round exits in a row anything less than a semi final will be disastrous for Real, especially with the amount of money they've spent. We all know Chelseas story. Will this be their year?

Barca are still the team to beat and to be considered a great side you have to keep winning trophies. No team has yet to win back to back Champions Leagues but Barca could definately do it. Inter and Juve I think will have much better tournaments but I feel Milan will struggle. I think the English sides will again, all do well. Gonna watch the Juve game tonight I think.

Uefa needs to revamp the so called champions league. have 20 teams in a league format. top 2 from england, spain, italy, germany. 1 from 12 other countries have them pre qualify. each team plays the other once. top 4 at end of the season have semi finals and a final.

some of these teams are pathetic and would lose to a team in the bottom 6 from england or spain.

stop calling it a champion s league as well because it isnt.

I agree with the league format you mention, would love to see it. But playing each other only once, there would surely have to be neutral grounds they play at. It wouldn't be fair to have teams playing away against some teams and home against others.

It's a lottery from the off. But then again, every cup competition is. Changing it would complicate it IMO.

Why? They're champions, even if they're not very good, and have every right to be in it. Apoel held Atléti tonight (and Anorthosis acquitted themselves remarkably well last season). Bullshit elitism.

some of the teams you're on about have more right as domestic champions to be in this yeras competition than Arse, Pool and Chavs as I can't see any champions amogst them.
