Because the keeper also charged out and Sane ran in, so by the time the ball came to Sane there was only a defender between him and the ball.
But if it came off Milner and not the City player, then it's a totally legit goal and the offside call is wrong. How is that even a discussion?

This BT coverage has to be the worst ever (to use a Trumpian superlative). They show every single incident in super slow mo replay missing the live action, the two co commentators are complete simpletons and none of them seemed to realise until half time that Sane’s goal was potentially onside as it came off Milner.

I can't believe there's any argument, it didn't deflect off of Milner, Milner had his leg raised to play it, he didn't mean to knock it back in but he played it, a deflection is if someone is looking the other way completely unaware of the ball coming towards him.
Fuck sake it was not offside, diabolical decision by the linesman and referee.

Aguero might not be completely fit but City have won the league, you need to risk him.

Imagine Kane on the bench in a situation like this.

Shame Aguero's been missing. More than capable of holding the ball up in and around the box awaiting team mates. Not forgetting his eye for a goal.
