There are a few 'dangerous' sides to be 'negotiated' before we can be considered a proper CL side.....but, if we accept that, unlike the England MOB, we have no 'God given right' to proceed beyond Qualifying Stage, we should be ok?
I am not 'happy' to meet Celtic, because of their new found 'direction', under Lennon, nor Sampdoria etc.
All dreaming apart, we should be able to get through to the 'important', next round.....COYS!

World Apostrophe Shortage Looms
22nd June 2010

Today the UN convened to discuss the ever decreasing number of apostrophe's available to forum users. The UK addressed the issue several weeks ago but have found that casual usage and the need to indicate to their virtual audience that they are quite likely crimping two pairs of fingers, as they would've been if conversing in person, has been unveiled as the reason behind it.

Contrary to Labours last budget, it was believed there was a stockpile of apostrophes that would last us well into the next fiscal year, but it appears this statement was made using erroneous information. The new coalition highlighted this emergency with their UN allies with the statement, "Due to recent abuse of the apostrophe by certain members of various UK fan forums, we are looking at a disastrous autumn."

It is understood that David Cameron has spoken to the punctuatreasury about an extended production run on apostrophes but, at the time of making this up when i should be working, no-one was available for comment.
interesting

We have 10 possible opponents.

Fenerbahce, Dinamo Kiev, Sporting Braga, Celtic, Unirea Urziceni, Thessaloniki, Young Boys, AA Gent, Sampdoria, Auxerre.

We have to fancy our chances against all of those.

Thessaloniki please

All of those finished second in their league, apart from Thessaloniki (4th), Samp (4th) & Auxerre (3rd). Just saying.

is that the braga we played a few years ago?? wouldnt mind an away day to that ground. behind one of the goals is just a rock face!! looks great.

That is. Great place for an awayday. They were selling tickets on the gate, as well.

I have a mate at Young boys, english boy with Swiss heritage, moved from Herts of Grasshopper Zurich when he was 16, nevr quite made it there but is now first choice RB at Young boys. Turnned down a Swiss international call up because he still hopes to play for Englad one day. Used to room with Reto when they were Yoofs! Spurs fan too :-D

I just got off the phone with Scott. He says he doesn't know you at all.

I think you owe us all an apology for lying.

So did I, and he said he didn't know you. How suspicious.

That lie was to celebrate my 600th post

I sense English 'superiority' rearing it's ugly (and niave) head again? This is the CL and FULL of Europes best sides (no matter at what level they may be at).
I fear for th3e mentality of the Spurs players who were in the England WC squad....after what was a savage beating in SA. The prospect of 'starting again' (so soon after SA) is bound to have made life 'unbearable' for our guys? COYS

As the excitement draws nearer I thought I'd rehash this thread.
We are currently seeded with Werder and Sevilla. Zenit and Ajax will make up the seeds if they qualify. The draw is this Friday, the 6th August. Matches to be played on 17-18 August (1st leg) and 24-25 August (2nd leg).

We have 10 possible opponents based on Zenit and Ajax getting through to the final stage from their second legs this week.
However, Celtic and AA Gent have to reverse 3-0 losses so are unlikely opponents. That leaves 8 possibilities:

Fenerbahce, Dinamo Kiev, Sporting Braga, Unirea Urziceni, Thessaloniki, Young Boys, Sampdoria and Auxerre.

If Zenit or Ajax don't make it then we won't play (in order) either Fenerbahce, Kiev or Braga depending upon who else qualifies.

First leg scores:
Ajax 1 PAOK 1
Unirea 0 Zenit 0
Young Boys 2 Fenerbahce 2
Braga 3 Celtic 0
Dynamo Kiev 3 Gent 0
