Just watched this on Sky+, when you just want to get away from Tottenham's recent plight and watch some footie the last thing I needed was to have my screen filled with the fucking cock up trio of Webb, Clattenburg and Atkinson. The irony that Clattenburg of Mendes fame and Atkinson from the weekend both there as goalline assistants is just, well, you know...
We just needed the 4th musketeer Chris Foy to rock up to complete the pack.
I don't think this game was filled with much quality, for a CL Semi Final at least and both teams pass accuracy down on both teams respective average of around 85/86%, Bayern down on 81%, Real down to 78%, it was a bit sloppy all round. Real obviously were contented to see the game out at 1-1 which would have put half a foot in the final, but it took a rare moment of quality in Lahm beating Coentrao easily and getting his head up and playing the perfect ball for Gomez - Kyle Walker take note!
Overall I think Bayern shaded it and probably earned their win, Real weren't great at all and I can't work out why Di Maria played so centrally all game, Ronaldo was very quiet too. It's also amazing at how, despite how good Real are, how shabby they seem to be at defending set pieces for a Mourinho team. God knows what Ramos was trying for the first goal.
Advantage Bayern, just, but I still think Real will be back in Munich in May to set up an El Clasico final.
