Just had an idea, may be wrong headed, but it was a bit of Friday morning dreaming. Now we know that Ade wont take a pay cut for the duration of his contract at Man City (how long does that have left to run?). Why should he, they were fools enough to offer it to him.
Taking this into account we can't match that wage. Even buying him on the cheap and paying him a signing on fee would be expensive, incurring a large sum of tax.
Ade has also expressed that he wants his high wage because he uses it to help people in his homeland. What if he was to set up a Charity and we donated the difference in earnings to that Charity in a non tax deductible way. Done badly this would be tax evasion, but done properly could this work? So long as Ade doesn't use the money to buy Jaguars and private jets or whatever you spend money on if the price of beer hasn't cleaned you out.
