AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says Chelsea have made an "astronomical" bid for Brazilian Kaka.
The Blues have long been linked with a move for 26-year-old World Player of the Year and their boss is now ex-Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Galliani told Italian newspaper La Stampa: "We received an astronomical offer from Chelsea for Kaka."
Galliani also revealed the club have had interest in 29-year-old Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo.
Pirlo's agent has been reported as saying in the Italian press he wants his client to be given the same wage as Kaka.

But Galliani added: "For Pirlo, there have been many requests. But neither Pirlo nor his agent have come into my office and asked me for an improvement in salary." Galliani says selling Kaka and Pirlo would immediately stabilise Milan's finances, with the club having missed out on a place in next season's Champions League.
"All we would need to do in order to wipe out our debts is sell Kaka and Pirlo," he said.
AC Milan technical director Leonardo told BBC Sport last month it was "impossible" for Chelsea to sign Kaka.
Kaka himself revealed to BBC Sport in April he would not rule out the possibility of one day playing for one of the big clubs in the Premier League.

I would have thought that Roman would have stopped bankrolling the Chavskis by now. Their debt is mind blowing and if he ever decided to drop his toy, they would do a Leeds.

Well should Roman fall ill (in a similar style to Grenta's owner) then they would really be in the shit because if someone else started controlling his estate they would expect the interest free loan to be paid back almost immediately.

Kaka has been one of my favourite players for years now. I hope he stays abroad so I can keep appreciating him. If he goes to Chelsea, how am I supposed to love him? :-(

Chelsea Didn't Bid For Kaká - Report
Sky Sports News claims that Chelsea have not submitted any bid for AC Milan star Kaká...

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani claimed that the London club had weighed in with a "massive" offer for the Brazilian superstar in an attempt to rejuvenate their midfield.

However Sky Sports News now claims that the word from Chelsea is a resounding negative on this score, and that Kaká has not been the subject of any bid, let alone a mammoth one.

Apparently the Blues have little interest at all in signing the attacking midfielder despite the fact that he was a mainstay of the Brazilian squad under current Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Scolari, meanwhile, is relishing his new role at the Bridge. Speaking to the club's official website he said, "It is fantastic to finally be here. The training ground is world class and I am very impressed by everything I have seen and heard from the staff.

"I am looking forward to welcoming the players back from their summer holidays tomorrow so we can start working together."

you know pt, i don't think roman cares about the club at all. i think chelsea were/are a means to personal glory. the debt their in is due to "personal loans" made to chelsea fc from abramovich so one way or another, he will get paid back. hope it never happens to us

Not quite, there would be no way back for them this time.

Just a thought, Abey's wealth is estimated at £8,000,000,000 and chelseas debt is aproaching £1,000,000,000 which is about an eighth of his wealth and rising.
How high does anybody think he will go? At this rate another 3 years and it'll be a quarter of his wealth, that's bound to make him stop & think, did he really imagine he was getting in for that much?

They wouldn't do a Leeds as the land their ground is on is worth million's. Also, their turnover is one of the highest in world football. So basically, if Abramovich left, they would just turn into the club the were pre 2003.

Chelsea would be destroyed if Abramovich just packed his bags.

EDIT: Liverpool too probably if the yanks left. They put their loans on to the Club, didn't they?

Dunno about Liverpool, but the land the Chelsea sty is on is worth a couple of hundred mill.

Anyway, all this "if Abramovich left" is just wishful thinking as unfortunately, he isn't going anywhere...

I this correct ? As I understand Chelsea are debt free as RA bank roles it all. he might of nearly spent that much on transfers / wages etc but then I'd guess your figures also don't take into account what money has come in to the club.

Don't get me wrong what they are doing is madness but I don't think your figures would be correct.

This is a crude way at looking at it.
