1) Everton have new owner, new manager and a new outlook. He may choose to stay put for another season
2) There was talk of a £50-60 million transfer fee. If they can get Batshuayi for half that, it's what they will try to do.

As for Batshuayi joining Chelsea - it would certainly counter the thinking that he would only join a CL team.
Mind you, there's a difference between:
a) Palace with no CL and decent wage
b) Us with CL but probably not the best wage
c) The mighty Russian Ruble.

Am waiting for option d) Shanghai FC or similar

Ha how predictable was this. We just can't get any deals done and wait for bargain prices that can never happen in this day and age. There aren't enough good players to go round to assume no one else will come in. He will go to Chelsea, earn 150k a week plus, and that will be that. Then we will haggle on Jansen until someone comes in for him and blows us out the water. Groundhog Day.

Yep and you know what, I've been right every window too. If Batman comes to us instead of Chelsea, I'll pop £200 in th SC coffers. I don't care if we piss around with any other transfer than striker. We need one, and a bloody good one, now

This sums up the big money boys. I imagine they have been after the likes of lukaku at 60 mill plus, and when that didn't happen they think well let's go for our back up Bats then. Here's 33 mill let's get it done. We've supposedly taken 6 months to try to sign him, then won't go any further as now outbid.

It's already nearly July. Club just needs to move on a secure other targets quickly. But suspect it will be the usual of still looking to bring in players the end of August

Chelsea signed Drogba and Malouda in front of our noses previously as well. Mane signed for Liverpool. Breel Embolo for Schalke 04, Lacazette to Arsenal? Janssen to....? How many exciting players do we have left to sign?

Come on! With players like Michy we have a striker for the next 10 years. Well worth the investment!
